For about 1 year I was part of the MIS department as a Systems Administrator.
Most of my duties here were to provide direct user support in the
most cost-effective way, in an environment with about 150 users.
I was also responsible for the backup system of the company's
40-plus file servers.
At the same time I performed such sys-admin duties as:
- Troubleshooting Unix and Macintosh Hardware and Software problems.
- Help resolve various network related issues such as DNS, NIS/NFS,
and Connectivity problems.
- Setting up individual desktop systems, and user accounts maintenance.
- Layout of the internal network wiring.
- Troubleshooting and updating the company's remote access system
(Security).
- Performed many Hardware and Software installations.
