Answer: I made a deal with god, you see. :-) here in the barossa at "Rancho Deluxo" with 20 month old Grace and Ysobel, Scrimp the dog, Nick the token man, and there are some other animals wandering around. Chooks and a horse and a goat and sheep and my landlords, some mice and what I dearly hope are possums in/on the roof. 3 What are you reading at the moment? Answer: The computer. This very survey, even. Why, what are you reading? (also a novel by Jeanette Wintersson called "The Power Book" and another book called "Feral Future" by Tim Low) 4 What's on your mouse pad? Answer: A dead mouse, I hope. (I dont have one, it's an amnesty international calender from 2 years ago. nice pictures, though, if you like that sort of thing) 5 Favorite time of day? Answer: "quitten tiiimme! Quitten tiiime! " "who says it's quiten time?" "I says it's quiten time!" "Well I is the foreman, I say when it's quiten time. QUITEN TIME! (I love when grace and ysobel are asleep, and I'm having a cup of tea and some *time*. I love when they just wake up, I love first thing in the morning, late at night, lunch time, all time is good. Old paintings from days when I would paint, drawings from when I drew, and poetry from when I wrote. (One day this computer and you people may well be under there too. Particularly if you're planning a surprise party for my birthday on Wednesday... I hope that none of you are asthmatic. 7 Favorite smells? Answer: *gush* there are so many smells that I love. The sweet smell of the breath of someone you love (my daughters, always), rain, salty sea air, eucalpyts, sweaty men (actually I love the smell of clean sweat), people, mushrooms, that moist, misty smell that fills the bathroom when you turn on the shower but before you get in... so many more. 8 Least favorite smells? Answer: The not so sweet breath of someone you love, except when they're breathing on you. Dirty nappies, dead mice, stinky things. Open, honest, belly aching laughter. I love it. Rain, the babble of voices, silence, melifluous words, melodious sentences, more I'm sure. 11 Worst feeling in the world Answer: That feeling of impending doom, knowing that something is not right but being unable to place your finger on it, wanting to say something but feeling like you can't, wanting to go somewhere, see someone do something and you know that it'll never happen again.. that feeling of being trapped in time, you know? But it's kind of pleasant, as well, because then you realise you're just reminiscing, and that's ok. Knowing that someone is being dishonest. Answer: I love this story:))) An exbf gave me a car because he didn't think he would get $50 for it at a wrecker, and he was going interstate. I sold it, and got $500. Answer: This latest upgrade of Morpheus cleans up the interface a bit, removing most redundant buttons and including a set of browser-like navigation buttons while keeping its decent Gnutella-network client capabilities. Four large buttons occupy the main toolbar, though only three are functional. The Media Manager button leads to a splash page for an upcoming feature. Users are going to be most interested in the smaller second row of buttons that control the actual file-sharing functionality. The Connections button shows your connection status and gives you a search button for initiating new searches. We like the fact that each new search opens in its own window within the overall invoice, so you can keep your different searches organized. Subscreens, such as the ones under the Shared Files and Transfers buttons, include more control buttons at the bottom of the screen that can be obscured by the banner ad if the window is too small. When downloading files, you can view size, type, download speed, and the number of hosts, and you can right-click for other metadata, but Morpheus never displays song bit rates, leaving you in the dark as to a file's sound quality. We had good luck downloading files with more than two hosts, but anything less than that remained beyond reach. Overall, from a list of 15 files with numbers of hosts ranging from one to five, we were able to begin downloading eight within half an hour. While waiting for your downloads you can try the included chat client, a branded version of PalTalk that gives you access to hundreds of groups and offers audio and video streams. Morpheus also bundles a shopping utility from Wurld Media that lets users earn rewards for shopping with a selected set of online merchants. To participate in that program you will need to register and, of course, become the target of various direct marketing campaigns. Overall, Morpheus is still rough around the edges. The positioning of buttons in the interface isn't well thought out and it lacks refinements such as the ability to search for file types, for example video files. | Yep, Luckey Charms is a cereal made by General Mills - the same people who make Cheerios. It's full of those fun sugary frosted marshmallows! They've added to the marshmallow shapes over the years - used to be pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars, and green clovers. Purple horseshoes were added a few years ago. Perhaps they stopped international distribution of Lucky Charms? I saw a post from someone in the UK not long ago that they stopped selling them in England some time ago. | G'day ScottieK, I found scribbly by accident from reading ABC news. I was disappointed with some of the news coverage (or lack thereof) on CNN on certain stories, and decided to look outside the US for more unbiased opinions. I find that ABC's reporting is very good. Anyhow, in the margins of the main news site, they had a new forum titled "All the Way with the USA" following John Howard's visit to Washington. I read that forum with great interest and even participated in a couple discussions. Following the termination of the forum, I found that ABC hosts scores of different forums. I read Scribbly for a couple days and decided to join in. I've held an interest in Australia ever since an old Navy buddy of mine was stationed at HE Holt back in the early 80's. He spent nearly four years there, and absolutely fell in love with the country. I believe he will probably end up retiring in Australia someday. Anyhow, with the stories he told, I really hope to visit as well one day. Airfare is relatively inexpensive considering the distance, but getting the time off of work is another matter. I like the range of topics that are discussed here, and the mannerisms are far more tame than Usenet - which I now only subscribe to a couple newsgroups. Does Australia duplicate any city names between its states? Here in the US, it is not uncommon to have same names that exist in other states. It is in the deep south and if I remember all of the stories correctly it is the last of those suburbs to be integrated.
