WHY I WRITE FAN FICTION:
It's a very good outlet for my creative energies. And it's giving me
much needed experience if I should ever decide to write a novel one
day
FAVORITE STORY I'VE
WRITTEN: "To Live And Die In Tokyo". Beyond the action, suspense,
violence, and Batman as a guest star, this story was a psychological
drama that took sweet and gentle Amy down the dark road of insanity.
Readers saw Amy unleash the inner demon that lurks within us all as
she gave in to her rage to avenge the death of a friend to where she
almost lost her soul and destroyed herself. The ultimate moral of
this story was that Amy's heartbreaking tragedy could happen to any
of us in the real world if we lost a loved one and were compelled, if
not obsessed to seek retribution, be it through legal, or illegal
means. The main theme to all my Sailor Moon stories has been the
importance of friendship, and TLADIT was a prime example of how far
one will go to seek vengeance for a lost friend, even if it meant
dying for that cause, as Amy very nearly did in this story. Every
aspect of TLADIT worked to perfection, making it a joy to write: the
plot, the character interaction, the original Negaverse scheme to
turn the world's drug users into bloodthirsty monsters, and my
all-time favorite fight scene as the Dark Knight slugged it out with
Tuxedo Mask in a real down and dirty slobberknocker! And yeah, I had
an absolute blast writing Batman!
FAVORITE VILLIAN: Nikolai
Malakov from "Blood on the Moon". I think I've put more work into the
demonic 700 year old Russian vampire lord than I had any other
villian I've created in my stories to date. I gave this calculating,
brooding fiend a history, a personality, a deadly obsession that
drove him, and a malice that could put fear into anyone. I sought to
make Malakov dark. cold and utterly menacing on a level close to that
of Dracula himself. The most important component of the plotline
which I developed early on was Malakov's uncanny likeness to
Nephlyte, former general to Queen Beryl, and Molly's murdered lover,
and how he led Serena's doomed friend to her death, and rebirth as
one of the undead as part of his mad scheme to resurrect the ancient,
all-powerful horror, Kiragama.
FAVORITE SUPPORTING
CHARACTER: Carlo Falcone from "To Live And Die In Tokyo". Falcone was
the vicious Gotham City mobster who was mixed up in a Mafia-Yakuza
plot to take over the drug trade in America, unaware that his
partner, Hiroyuki Tomba was, in reality, an sleeper agent from the
Negaverse who was using Falcone and the Mob as part of a scheme to
foment worldwide chaos via a monster creating mutagen. Falcone was an
interesting character to craft, he was violent, dangerous, but at the
same time, displayed a strong sense of honor, admiration for the
Japanese people, and later on proved to be no one to mess with after
he learned of Tomba's betrayal, making him a key character in the
story as he helped the Scouts bring the alien down.
PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY: "It's
better to try and fail than not to try at all."
