us.NEW MEMBERS. You will need to obtain (a) an application form, (b) a lineage sheet, and (c) a printout of your ancestor's service records. The COMPILED SERVICE RECORDS are on microfilm and available at most libraries which have a good genealogy section, including the Spartanburg Library. (You need to know which regiment your ancestor served in because the records are organized by regiment, then by last name. There is an index of Confederate Soldiers in a volume of books by Broadfoot Publishing.) New members must have a current SCV member as a sponsor, usually a member of the camp you're joining. If you don't have a friend in the SCV already, and you want to join our camp, come and talk to the Camp Commander at our next meeting. And please complete the online MEMBERSHIP QUESTIONAIRE.
