Intended Flavor: hazelnut-almond chocolate cream sandwiched between wafer layers, coated with melt-in-your-mouth chocolate, dusted with cocoa powder Review Date: September 19, 2005 The classic Kit Kat has always been my favorite common candy. The classic version cannot even compare to this. Gold is what would happen if a premium chocolatier decided to make his own Kit Kat. This is the highest perfection I could imagine from grocery store candy. The special winter-only chocolate (it melts too easily for summer) melts smoothly, as it should. The wafer has the regular Kit Kat crispiness, and the dusting of plain cocoa powder gives it a character beyond the standard. The sticks are tiny, too, under half the size of a regular Kit Kat finger. I can only hope they bring it back again next year. Perfect score.
