Review Date: March 22, 2006

"Black" is one interesting theme ingredient. This flavor is certainly more of a savory snack than it is a candy. And holy cow, is it an unusual flavor.

The coating isn't remotely sweet, but the stick has its typical slight sweetness. I can't taste the five black flavors separately. Above all it tastes like toasted sesame oil, with a definite rice taste, and a few other subtle flavors blended in. The first bite is foremost confusing, with a slew of unfamiliar flavoring. After that it's delicious. If you've ever wanted to eat Pocky with a meal, pick some up.
