Oh man. Ohhh man. Somehow, Glico is batting zero for two in Mousse flavors so far. Just when I think they can't do wrong, they screw up "extra-thick frosting." The frosting texture isn't bad and it sure looks appetizing. Apparently Royal Milk Tea is a canned drink in Japan, but I can't imagine that it tastes like... this. What's so wrong?

It smells and tastes like soap.

When I tasted it I thought I had gone suddenly and violently mad. Soap. Fortunately, two volunteer sniffers (they refused a taste) confirmed that it smells either like "bad soap" or "air freshener." This box isn't expired and hasn't been tampered with. Glico went and made soap-flavored Pocky, with just the faintest hint of spice that might just have come from tea. Needless to say, this flavor is long since discontinued, and isn't in the slightest way worth tracking down.

Smell
It smells like soap. I don't like where this is going.
2/5
Taste
Sweet, faintly tea-spicy soap. Help me what is going on it tastes like SOAP.
2/10
Texture
Thick, squishy, tacky frosting overwhelms the crunch.
3/5
Presentation
I think I'd actually rather eat the box. It looks yummy.
