Human Condition

The Human Condition is the condition that all human beings are born under. Being human beings, we are all born into the state of original sin. The fact that we are in original sin causes us to be born into suffering. A lot of things we do are usually self-centered because we were born that way. Humans usually do whatever keeps them out of trouble. This causes us to lie to keep others from knowing the truth. A part of the Human Condition is feeling alone. The way we are able to overcome that feeling of being alone is through love and union with other people.

3 Key Ideas

• The First Noble truth- This teaching by Buddha helps confirm the idea of original sin. He states that we are born into a life of pain and suffering. Because of this truth comes why we do the things we do and helps explain the Human Condition.
• Underlying beliefs- These explain why we think and act the way we do. Our underlying beliefs are develop as we grow up and are why we develop some of the habits we have. These explain how we reason with what we do.
• Truth About Lies- This movie helped explain why we lie. We usually lie to keep ourselves out of trouble and to keep things from happening that we don’t want to happen to us. Another reason we lie is to save someone who is in danger.

Question to lead me in my studies

What is my view on what happens to me if I die and how does it influsence my actions? I believe that when I die I will live eternally and that I can either go to Heaven or Hell. I usually try to do things to help others who are in need. I try to do what I know is right and what I know I should do. I don’t always do, but I know that is because of the Human Condition that I sometimes tend to be more self-centered.
