Reason

Reasoning is what separates humans from the animals. Humans have the ability to go against what their natural instincts tell them to do unlike animals. When we reason we are able to take facts and come up with new truths and beliefs. Sometimes when we reason, we reason in a wrong manner which is called the Five Common Thinking errors. This is how we come up with false truths.

Three Key Facts

·                    We learn through three different ways: experience, authority and reason. These three we learn starts ever since we were born. We learn by experience as we get older and learn from things that have happened to us. We learn through authority as we learn from books and things we hear. We learn by reasoning out ideas we get. Through these three ways are able to achieve the knowledge we have about our world and our surroundings.

·                    Five Common Thinking Errors- These ways of thinking is how we form illogical thinking habits. These errors don’t allow us to derive to the truth or help us to show others what is true.

·                    The process of knowing- This process helps us to think more critically and more logically. We are able to take in knowledge and start deriving to different truths, which is how we reason.

Question to lead in my studying

When I try to reason out what I believe is true do I come up with false conclusions or false premises?

Yes I do a lot of times when I think about things. Sometimes I think up stuff that sometimes don’t seem to  make much sense, but I know that as I get older my reasoning will become better as it has in the past.
