All right, this is a bit hard here, I love so many books. But I find the ones closest to my heart are those I read in childhood. Silly? Maybe but I still remember the first time I read Where the Red Fern Grows, Anne Of Green Gables, the entire Laura Ingalls Wilder series, & the Narnia Chronicles. Now as an adult I STILL enjoy these books. Somehow they speak to me. Their language may be more simple, but the thoughts, and writing are exquisite. I love a book I can sit down and read over and over. Where the Red Fern Grows still makes me cry, Anne of Green Gables makes me laugh, and Laura's family are dear friends. Pick up one and see what I mean. |

*Special note: While they're too numerous to mention here, check out other LM Montgomery books. The Story Girl, The Golden Road, Chronicles Of Avonlea, Further Chronicles of Avonlea, and many others. She was an amazing short story writer, with characters just as memorable as those in "Anne". The Story Girl deserves special mention as it's what the Disney Channel's "Avonlea" series was (loosely) based on. The Golden Road is the continuance of The Story Girl. **Another note: This book is a hardcover edition of all the Narnia books in the order CS Lewis intended. It looks WONDERFUL, and I plan to order it soon. |

Mistress Of

Victoria Holt was a master story teller. While some may find the plots hopelessly romantic, and redundant, I have never been sorry I picked up a Victoria Holt book. I always enjoy the characters, story, and setting. They're a 'light' read, but very enjoyable. Not only that, NO ONE can beat the price of these!!! Victoria Holt also wrote under the names of Jean Plaidy and Phillipa Carr. These are not to be missed. |

Will Fight No More Forever Like the above book this one also covers the Indian's side of the story. In this case it is about Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce. Many people don't realize that the Nez Perce FLED to avoid fighting and were captured only a few miles from the Canadian border. The Nez Perce were then placed on a reservation like most other Indians, taking away their beloved home, culture, and freedom. Chief Joseph was a visionary, as well as a great general, and we could all learn from his sacrifices and determination to keep peace. |
Where
White Men Fear to Tread This is the autobiography of Russel Means, one of the leaders of the American Indian Movement. While his ideas are controversial, his life story is amazing. This book makes you think, cry, and think some more. Put away your prejudices and read it with an open mind. It will change you forever. |

**Note** Why we chose hardcovers. While most of these books are available in paperback editions, these are books you'll want to read over and over. A hardcover is really a friend, you know them, love them and they'll be with you for years. where a paperback is just a book. Neverless, if you do want a paperback edition, you can find those by looking at the OTHER EDITIONS for each book. **End Note** |
