OPERATION
ENDURING FREEDOM

The events, which unfolded in New York City and Washington D.C. on 9-11-01, will be remembered tomorrow, the day after, and the days to come as probably the worst terrorist acts in the history of the United States. Because of these terrorist actions, thousands of innocent peoples' lives were taken away without any warning. The passengers on the four planes, one crashing into the Pentagon, one into each of the Twin Towers, and one crashing into woods in Pennsylvania, lost their lives. The people working in the Twin Towers lost their lives. Some of the brave firefighters and police, who were trying to save the lives of people they might have not even known, also lost their lives.

Building after building fell as we watched hopelessly, not able to do anything to stop it. The most that we could do was to dig and dig hoping to find more survivors. Families of the missing laid in wait hoping for the best knowing that the longer the wait, the least likely their loved ones would be found alive. As some of us watched the events unfold from where we were, we feel fortunate that it did not strike close to us, yet at the same time it really struck right on all of us. It leaves a since of vulnerability making us feel unsafe in our own country.

We can not allow terrorists or anyone for that matter to threaten our lives in our own country. To keep this from ever happening again, we must find everyone that was and is involved with this terrorist act and make an example of them which will give any other terrorist group or military force the assessment that they will not and can not attempt anything like this again.
