Bio

The Nerve Agents began with Andy Outbreak (Model American) constantly begging Eric (former Redemption 87/Unit Pride) to start a band with him. Eric finally broke down and told Andy that he was only going to do this because he could not stand seeing such a pathetic looking kid down on his knees begging. Eric went home to his house, nicknamed "the Hot Zone" due to it's high bacteria count, and asked his roommate Kevin (former Big Rig/Goodfellas) if he wanted to join, and he did. The bass player they had originally, quit soon after. So, he doesn't get to be mentioned. At about the third practice, Tim (Model American) showed up uninvited with his guitar and started playing. No one could figure out why he was there, so no one ever said anything. Needless to say, Tim became the second guitar player because no one ever bothered to ask him what he was doing there. But his hair was so big, they just couldn't turn him down.

The Nerve Agents' sound became balanced out by the members' different personalities and by combining various influences like "Youth of Today" with the "Circle Jerks", "Black Flag" with "Cause For Alarm", and "7 Seconds" with the "Cro-Mags". The band became a mixture of hardcore and punk, turning the music into a sound very reminiscent of the early 80's. After playing shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles, The Nerve Agents recorded an eight song ep at For The Record in Orange, California. It was produced by the legendary Paul Miner and is now being released on Revelation Records.

Upon the release of The Nerve Agents debut EP, some line-up changes proved necessary. After searching high and low for a new bass player, they came across a scrappy young lad by the name of Dante who quickly went on to make a name for himself when The Nerve Agents played a show in Oxnard, CA. Dante was on the front lines of a riot that he allegedly incited and ended up becoming a mace victim. The evening ended with the new bassist laughing hysterically while covered in snot and tears. Business as usual for The Nerve Agents.

A tour of the East Coast with The Explosion during the summer of 1999 marked the departure of one of The Nerve Agents original guitarists. Since then, the band has acquired new guitarist Zac "The Butcher" (ex-Fury 66) who has yet to be maced. But, there's still time.

As of late, The Nerve Agents have been playing lots of shows in their home-away-from-home, Los Angeles, and other parts of Southern California, winning new fans with every legendary performance. Playing consistently in their home area has also resulted in a highly increased level of interest from kids in Central/Northern California. The band has been busy in the studio as well. The Nerve Agents have just recorded three songs (including a fierce cover of David Bowie's, "Suffragette City") for a Mankind Records split 7" with East Coast monsters Kill Your Idols and a new track called "Bitterseed" for the Sessions Records comp, The Way It Should Be. Of course, The Nerve Agents also just recorded their brand full-length, Days Of The White Owl, for Revelation Records which contains fourteen tracks of furious punk and hardcore , played with the intensity and passion, that seems lost in todays punk/hardore scenes. . This year is loaded with shows and tour plans for the band, and the new album contains their best work to date. Beware of The Nerve Agents lurking in the shadows of 2000... the Days Of The White Owl are upon us.
