Grafton Street (right), the most elegant shopping street in all of Dublin, supports several nice shops offering a wide range of wares from high fashion to modest Irish souveniers.

Dublin, Ireland's capital city, is home to roughly a third of the country's population. Visitors find no shortage of interesting buildings, such as Leinster House, the Bank of Ireland and the General Post Office, where the Easter Rising of 1916 took place. The very unique Book of Kells is on display at Trinity College and the National Museum on Kildare Street contains many treasures from Ireland's past. The city has one of the best pub and club scenes in Europe, and great theater. The city also has the advantage of having surprisingly picturesque suburbs. Coastal towns like Howth, Killiney and Malahide allow the visitor to get away from the hustle and bustle without venturing too far from the city. Also, there are a number of B & Bs in both Howth and Malahide which work well for those visitors with early flights as these suburbs are close to the Dublin Airport. Further, Smyth's Pub in Malahide makes some of the best hamburgers on either side of the Atlantic and, of course, pours a decent pint of Guinness. It is arguably one of the finest pubs in all of Ireland. Below are a few links a visitor to Dublin might find useful.
