you want to swap two buttons.

Press and hold down the magic button until the LED blinks twice.
-
Key in 994
-
Press the button you want to copy
-
Press the button you want to change
The LED should blink twice.
This also works if you want to change a button so it does another button
on a different system. e.g. You can redefine the Play button on the
TV mode to play the video recorder on the VCR mode. To do this, press
and hold the magic button until the LED blinks twice, key in 994, press
VCR, press the Play button, press TV and press the Play button. Now
if you press the Play button on the TV mode, it will start the video recorder.
Note: You can only redefine a key so it does what the other
key originally done. e.g. If you redefine the 2 key so it presses
3 and redefine the 1 key so it presses 2 then pressing the 1 key will act
if you pressed the 2 key and pressing the 2 key will act if you pressed
the 3 key. i.e. You can't chain keys. You cannot redefine the
VCR, TV, SAT, AUX, MAGIC and S keys.

How to get keys that are on the original but
not on the Universal
After you setup the remote to do the TV, the Satellite and the VCR, you
may find that there are missing buttons on the remote, e.g. The menu
button that was on the TV remote is not on the Universal remote, The 'Reset
Counter' button that was on the VCR remote is not on the Universal remote
and the 'Radio' button that was on the Satellite remote is not on the Universal
Remote. It is possible to get these buttons on the Universal remote
but it will take some time. Before going through the steps below,
make sure you have a Pen and paper and some spare time and also be sure
to have tried every button on the universal remote (including the VCR buttons)
just incase it is already there.

To find a button that was on the TV, VCR or
Satellite remote:
-
If you are setting up the VCR, be sure to put a blank Tape in as the VCR
may start recording when doing these steps.
-
Using the original remote, put the TV, VCR or Satellite in a way so when
you press that button that is not on the Universal remote, you will know
what is to happen. e.g. Put the TV on Teletext on a quiz page if
you are trying to find the reveal button.
-
Press the magic button (don't hold it down for two LED blinks) and key
in 000.
-
If the remote acts if you pressed that missing button, write down the number
you keyed in. Otherwise, repeat steps 3 and 4 with the next number
in sequence, e.g. 001. If a certain number causes the remote to press
a wrong button, e.g. changes the channel, repeat step 2 before going on
to step 3 using the next number in sequence. Sometimes you have to
go through over 50 keys before even anything happens.
-
After you found the number, press and hold down magic until the LED blinks
twice.
-
Key in 994 and press magic (don't hold it down for two LED blinks).
-
Key in the number you found above.
-
Press the button on the remote to store it on.
-
Repeat all these steps to find other keys that were on the original remote.
Note: You cannot store a new buttuon on the VCR, TV, SAT, AUX, MAGIC
and S keys.
