Do, or do not, there is no... wait... Welcome to my Yoda Stories 'Memorial.' While not really comparable
to today's Star Wars games, Yoda Stories still finds a place in my heart as a
curious game uncorrupted by the Star Wars prequel movies. If you're still
interested in playing, it'll be quite a challenge. Even if you somehow get
your hands on a copy, you'll have trouble playing it on Windows XP since it
seems to dislike the NT environment. Besides doing some weird registry
tricks or buying a GameBoy Advance, I don't think I'll be able to play it
anytime soon. As great alternatives, I would look into Star Wars: Knights
of the Old Republic or Star Wars: Galaxies.
In my quick overview of this game, I will show a few things you can pickup
and also found a neat bug that you can have fun playing around with.
ItemsThese items are the little icons on the scrollable menu in the YodaStories Window. |
<- Weapons -> First I'll go show you weapons. Weapons can kill any enemy except for ones that you need to talk to. There are the blasters and thermal detonators and the infamous lightsaber. In the way of blasters there is the blaster rifle and the hand-held blasters. The blaster rifle is stronger than the hand-held blasters but holds less shots. The thermal detonators are very useful weapons. For example... If you want to blow away the enemies before you get close just let them go ... and ... once you click on them the game pauses and lets you aim. Last but not least there is the lightsaber. A powerful weapon at close range, the lightsaber is the #1 weapon among Jedis. After you win 5 games you get a green lightsaber instead of the regular blue. This only happens for a price... You must fight Darth Vader! I have included pictures of both. Those are the weapons that make Yoda Stories an exciting game to play. For you viewing pleasure here are the pictures of the weapons. |

<- Health Remedies -> The health remedies can be the most important stuff in the game. The remedies can range from health kits to weird mushrooms. Be sure to remember that you can always go to the medical droid if you are almost dead so don't use the remedies if you can easily get to the droid. The order of the colors in the health meter are green - yellow - red - black ... then your dead. I took this out of the help file... "After you win fifteen games, Yoda will give you a way to survive the first blackout." Yoda gives you the Spirit Heart (Shown below), that when you die you life is restored full. I have added pictures of a few of the remedies. |

<- People -> Here are a few of the people I have found in the game. Most of these people are people who you have needed to rescue and have been picked up. So I got a picture of them and put them up. For the most part I have put these here for your viewing enjoyment. |

<- The Force -> The force is a weird and very useful tool. It can be used to persuade people to do your will or move objects from afar. It also stops enemies dead in their tracks. You can get the force in the game on certain tiles where you must perform a task... like moving certain blocks around. Once you get 10 games won you get the force at the start of the game from Ben. Here is a picture of the force. |

<- Odd / Weird Stuff -> Through out my travels in the game Yoda Stories, I have picked many weird things. Most of the things here help you complete a game... like the cloaking unit in the save Yoda mission. I have put these on here to show the diversity of Yoda Stories. I have also missed many things here... E-mail a suggestion and I will try to get a picture of it. |
