A founding member of SEAPAVAA enjoying full institutional membership, the Vietnam Film Institute has been appointed by the Vietnam government to archive its country’s audiovisual heritage and undertake research studies on cinema art. In addition, the VFI publishes books on cinema art and produces new films from archive footages. It also provides films for public exhibition through cine-clubs, universities, and research institutions throughout Vietnam.
At the Assembly in Jakarta, Dr. Chi circulated the proposed program for the Third General Assembly which includes an excursion to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO listed world heritage site. SEAPAVAA requested Dr. Chi to convey their thanks in behalf of all the members for the invitation.
The SEAPAVAA executive council meets in Hanoi in October this year and part of the agenda is to discuss the program and arrangements for the Third General Assembly. Official invitations and information will be circulated to all SEAPAVAA members as soon as arrangements are finalized.
