NFSA becomes ScreenSound Australia
The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia has changed its name to ScreenSound Australia.
The new identity was announced and officially launched by Australia's Prime Minister, Right Honourable John Howard MP, at a gala event on 21 June to formally open the Archive's newly constructed technical wing. The new name is shorter and easier to remember, and is also part of a strategy to develop the public profile and services of the institution. Its nature, role and traditional activities as the national film, television, radio and sound archive of Australia continue unchanged.
To coincide with the launch, our new website has gone live: at www.screensound.gov.au
For the first time, visitors to the site can have on-line access to the catalogue of the National collection of screen and sound. Try it (and allow that we're still fine-tuning it...) -- and please contribute your own comments and messages!
