Media Update sent to every local newspaper
in Queensland on February 28th 2004:-
"Important info, schoolbus seatbelts
Update on the Campaign for Seatbelts on School Buses (or alternatively, the
"Campaign on how not to have 50 dead kids in the next school bus
crash").
From Kim Bax - mum, near Jimboomba, Beaudesert Shire.
Goodmorning everyone,
I'm sending out this update to all the local newspapers in Queensland -
there's a lot of useful info for you. Some stuff might be OK for a story
right away - but even if it's not, be sure to bookmark it. It's
extremely likely it will be a very handy resource for you in the future.
I'm always available for interviews. I can be contacted on (07) 5543
1796 or (07) 5543 2390 or 041 270 8451.
On January 22nd 2004 (now over 5 weeks ago), I sent 3 CRUCIAL questions
to all members of the State Parliament (the 8 new members got them on the 8th
& 12th Feb.) As of to-day (28th Feb), I've received only 25
responses (out of a potential 89), and out of those 25 replies, only 2
addressed the questions that had ACTUALLY been asked. Anyway, you can
get complete info on how your local member/s is/are performing (or not), at
this link:-
I've also added a dramatic new link to my website - it's FULL of dramatic
quotes, articles, studies and pictures (almost all of particular
relevance to Queensland). Check it out:-
Also, you'll still find a lot of dramatic info on the front page of my site:-
Here's another link to reports on recent Queensland bus crashes:-
And to really underline the hypocrisy of Government, here's a link to a Qld.
Police media release (Dec 2003), about seatbelt laws and private vehicles:-
Hope the above is of help - don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
All the best - Kim"
