Asaka:

A small city (population: around 114 000 ) in Saitama prefecture, 20 km from the boarder of Tokyo prefecture (around 30 minutes by train from JR Ikebukuro station). I worked there for 8 months for the Honda research center, motocycle division.

Here I had a real appartment. It was a 4 and a half in a building called Ivy Garden. What was really convenient was that I was 5 minutes from work. When I was in Utsunomiya, it was 45 minutes by mini-bus! Unfortunately, I didn't like the fact that it was too urban for me. There was too much concrete and too much asphalt around. I liked the countryside of Utsunomiya a lot more.

A street near the Ivy Garden.

There is a a prune field in front of the building I lived in. The really big inconvinience was that, except for the trees, the soil was barren. When there was a lot of wind and my windows were open, an inch of dust appeared everywhere in my appartement. A %$*&!" lot of cleaning! :(

The advantage was that it's really nice when the trees are in full bloom!
