Highlands

Highlands is a small lake about 1.5 acres in size, depths range from 2~6ft.This venue has a lot of lilies in the summer which are good for surface fishing.

It is a beautiful tree-lined lake containing numerous carp into upper twenties. The lake was dredged in the winter of 1997 and was closed all of the 1998 season. As this water used to rarely be deeper than 3ft! Which is not great for the freezing part of fishing! Luckily it is only a short walk to the small we maintained lake.

The fish this lake contains are mainly commons and lots of mirrors too, as far as I know there are a few tench and some crucians too but they don’t really interfere with the carp fishermen!

Thank god! The lake record stands at 25lb 4ozs but there have been others sighted that look bigger!

The lake has defiantly improved since it was dredged, and if it looks like your going to blank then you can just chuck on a float and you will be sure to catch a few tiddlers!!!

It is well worth a go if you are going to join the club and I would give it 4/5 the swims are fairly big too so it can be night fished if you decide to go I hope you catch and good luck to you all
