physical description: rinan has a slim build with wide hips. her skin is naturally a golden brown year round. she has a delicate face with small, down-slanted eyes. her eyes are deep blue and are commonly mistaken for black. her eyebrows have a cynical arch and often give people the correct impression of rinan's personality. rinan's lips are thin, making her tiny mouth appear even smaller. her legs are long and gangly but taut with muscle. she has washboard abs from running away from authority-types and her daily ab exercises. around her innie bellybutton there is a henna-coloured tattoo of the symbol of ishtar, an eight-pointed star. no one knows when/where she got it, it was just there one day. unfortunately, rinan has almost no upper body strength and can barely do five push-ups. she has long, dexterous fingers, agile and defined from all the typing she does. her fingernails are always well-manicured, usually with a clear top coat instead of a colour. although occasionally she paints them black or purple. rinan has very unusual hair, to say the least. naturally teal, she dyes the last six inches dark blue. rinan has her hair trimmed at her mid-back and it a U shape so it hangs nicely. she parts her haphazard bangs to her left and uses a few barrettes to keep the longer ones under control. about five inches from the tip she ties a chunk of hair with a hair tie, the number of hair sections varies from five to seven.
in autumn or spring, rinan likes to wear generic clothes with a home-sewn touch. one would never catch her in shorts, always dark blue jeans, even on the hottest of days. since she has a wonderfully flat tummy, she gets to show it off and often does with her collection of navel-bearing shirts. the colours range from blues to grays and some blacks. rinan has a high body temperature, so she usually wears her purple cotton jacket to keep her a little warmer. she always wears her black daria boots, she can run the fastest in them. in the summer, rinan wears her normal spring and autumn clothes without the jacket. she rarely goes swimming, but she does have a swimsuit, a two-piece gray nike suit. rinan hates winter the most and wears a ton of clothing to stay warm. she has a violet ankle-length, down winter coat, and black polarfleece cap and scarf with black sheepskin mittens. she also has a pair of black UGG fur-lined boots.
rinan has the most terribly weak eyesight, so she has to wear her glasses all the time. she hates her contacts, they hurt her eyes and she doesn't like sticking her finger in her eye. rinan wears little to no make-up. she reverently believes that only fake people wear a lot of make-up. not much beyond minty blue lipgloss and occasionally some silver eyeshadow is the extent of ability to wear make-up. but she does love her funky jewelry. rinan will often wear three or five necklaces at once. along with her ears that are pierced four times, three in the lobe and one for the cuff. her fingers are covered in silver rings of all sorts. she always has to take them off before she types, which is almost ritualistic for her. her goggles are very special, they allow her to view computer programming without a screen. so she can browse through a hard drive in a few minutes and not have to turn on the monitor, very essential if you are lacking time.
likes: hacking, sleeping, playing video games, cats, the city, her cd player and burner, books, tea, rainy days, snowy days when she can just curl up by the fire with tea and a book, playing guitar and archery.
dislikes: when you're not sure if you need milk or not but you're afraid to leave the gas station without buying any, scary movies, dogs, when she yawns so much she forgets the conversation, silence, villages/small towns and other annoying rural areas, smoke and alcohol, having to watch the time, boyfriends and heights.

personality: rinan is basically the eccentric little hacker girl. she is naturally weird without the help of illegal drugs. (most people tend to think she uses them, but honestly, she doesn't. it's just the caffine.) she doesn't care what other girls think about her, mostly because she thinks the others of her sex are shallow and annoying. she enjoys the company of males. more particularly, unperverted fanboy-type males.
rinan is unusually detached, or at least appears to be. she's actually avoidant and fears social situations involving 5+ people. she is very mellow and relaxed when she has had more than three cans of pop/three cups of tea. if you want to stay healthy, weathy and wise, you give rinan a soda or seven and you won't have to fear her wrath when she goes through caffine withdrawl. that's as scary as she gets, though. when satiated with caffine, rinan has almost no temper at all. when lacking caffine, you fear for your life and get her some coca-cola quick!
because she spends most of her time alone, rinan can entertain herself quite well. she reads, writes poetry, occaisionally remixes some old school video game songs, and sleeps. at home she usually runs around in her underwear with a sweater thrown over. mostly because she never has surprise company.
her legal job is a pizza delivery girl. she uses a cute little black vespa named "belgarath" to make her delivery. needless to say, she gets a lot of calls for dates instead of pizza. her illegal job pays much better. since she has to arrange everything perfectly, she only hacks a few times a month.
rinan is generally antagonistic towards people who she knows will view her as weird, and believes that all people who view her as aforementioned are stupid. and she will treat you accordingly. if someone makes an incredibly stupid remark, she will call the person, "dear" as if s/he were a child.
history: as a baby, rinan was very good natured. she slept a lot and rarely cried. she was also nice to her baby brother, peter, when he was born two years after she was. she always shared her toys. as they got older, her parents began to fawn over peter. he started to walk at an early age. although rinan started talking a year before he did (siblings learn to talk at about the same time), it was obvious her parents wanted an athletic child.
in elementary school, rinan made a few friends but her self-induced isolating personality kept away any other prospects for friends. her ability to read well at such a young age amazed her teachers and they tried to make her their pet, much to her disgust. she skipped third grade, which caused the teasings of her intelligence to increase. it didn't help that she was naturally different. rinan lost her friends either to their families moving or to betrayal. rinan became more quiet and secluded. at her small school, rinan was considered plain to the abundance of pretty girls who spent more than two hours primping themselves in the mirror. rinan was glad to graduate, but she spent the last day of school in texas.
during middle school, rinan found a few new friends that weren't corrupted by the rumours spread by her classmates. rinan began to take an interest in art. her natural talent flourished, much to the envy of her supposed best friend, sabine. as time wore on, sabine's art and characters began to resemble rinan's to an astonishing degree. rinan began to write a story about her rpg character, starlight. weeks later, sabine started writing about firelight. later on rinan learned sabine had been using heroine and having promiscuous sex with high-school guys. if rinan thought she was glad to get out of elementary school, she was estatic to get out of middle school.
during the summer between 8th and 9th grade, rinan bloomed. she grew three inches and acquired curves. her round face started to gain shape and she became quite lovely. once in high school, many of rinan's enemies regretted what they had said to her. rinan befriended a group of seniors who loved to play video games like her. since she was the only other girl in the group besides tara, she quickly became an object of desire for many of the guys. her parents were happy to get rinan out of the house. rinan played dungeons and dragons with her newfound friends almost every other night. she was finally truly happy. unfortunately, her friends had to graduate and go to college, rinan looked upon her sophomore year with dread. over the summer, rinan had her first boyfriend, jeremiah he broke her heart after three months and rinan acquired a definite dislike for guys as boyfriends. in her computer programming class she met jennifer. with their similar interests, they became close friends. rinan taught jen how to draw and jen taught rinan bass guitar. they started a band called the "deli llamas." they met lori at auditions for their singer. rinan wrote the lyrics to jen's music and lori sang them beautifully. the deli llamas became a local hit. they played at dance clubs and school dances. they never made it big, but they enjoyed it while it lasted. when rinan was 16, she went to a private gig with the band in the back of a tattoo parlor. as their pay, they each got a tattoo and swore secrecy they would never tell anyone where or when they got them. she started learning how to hack a few months later from jen. they worked as a team until graduation, when they had to go their separate ways. jen went to college at washington university.
now rinan works as a pizza delivery girl, it pays well, her only reason, to pay legally for her rent. she's saving for digipen, her dream college.
