Prolouge

Fairy under the sun with her smile so bright,
To the center where the cold ceases to exist,
Pixie in the jungle with her heart a shining light,
To the south with the exotic found in the mist,
Angel among the clouds her aura surrounded in white
To the north, with the winter and cold so hard to resist.

Three beings, to join them all,
Three powers to save them from temptation,
Three to answer the call,
Three to keep them from damnation
.”

“Grandma…grandma can you tell us the story of Angel, and her Prince?”
Two wrinkled yet sparkling blue eyes turned.
“Yeah…tell us the story of your mommy and daddy!”
The old woman looked to her young grandchildren, she smiled. They loved that story, the story of an Angel and an Mortal, bond in a forbidden love. A love so strong it took on God herself…and won. They loved hearing the story every Christmas, just before they opened the presents with the rest of their big family. She looked back to the window where it was snowing, they hadn’t had a white Christmas in such a long time…now seemed perfect for the story. “Very well” she smiled in a voice that seemed to sing, not talk “I shall tell you the story.”
Everyone gathered around her feet and looked up anxiously at her “Once upon a time, long before I was born” she started “In a land, just like this one. One where the world was horrid and cruel. One that needed to be saved. God made special beings for this world, to bring them back to there previous glory. There were Fairies, Pixies, and Angels, each sent to some corner of the world to bring the people hope and faith. In this world, there was lost lonely man, with the beauty of a god, and voice of an angel, his name…was Brian Littrel…”

Christmas. Not exactly his favorite holiday…Valentines day was, call him a hopeless romantic but he loved the idea of a complete day dedicated to being with the one you loved most. But she loved Christmas, the moment November came she was in full Christmas mood until it came and passed. He smiled thinking of her, she was his conscience, his reason.
Being a celebrity wasn’t exactly the easiest job, it wasn’t that he was ungrateful, he thanked God everyday that he was able to persue his dream, but there were times when it all seemed to be too much. Like when he first me her, there was a time when he didn’t care, about love, about family, about friends, about himself, even about life…then she came into his life, and it just made sense. He remembered that day, he was in Canada, at a meet’n’greet with some fans, he didn’t care, at that point his life meant nothing. He didn’t want to meet anyone, he just wanted to be left alone, then the door opened and when he looked up he swore that the room had been pitch black and when he saw her someone had turned the light on and she was the bulb, when she smiled at him…he was lost. From that moment, she had been his conscience.
There it was…the smile. It crept onto his face whenever he thought of her, no matter when or where, it was always there. She was the only one able to bring it to him, She was the only one able to bring it to him, with her smile, and her grace, her voice and her face. Sometimes he wondered if she was an angel, sent specifically for him…but that would be ludicrous. Why would an angel be sent to him? He’d done nothing to deserve a creature like that…but then again, he did nothing to deserve a girl like her. But he had her.
She always wore light colors, white or baby blue, but the thing that made him wonder was that coat, always the same coat. A long white coat that she wore everywhere, always. She almost never took it off…well that was a lie, during the summer she had a thinner version of it and took it off all the time, but as soon as winter arrived, the coat would be back, especially if they were around snow. Living in Florida it wasn’t that much of a problem, but sometimes they would go up to Canada and it would appear suddenly, she refused to take it off some nights, when it would storm, he figured she was just scared. But apart of him knew it was something else.
He shook his head, how did he go from simply thinking of her to assessing her? It didn’t matter, as long as he was thinking about her it was all good.

She looked around and pulled her coat tighter around her with a shutter. She’d forgotten it got this cold in winter. Maybe she’d been in Florida too much, it had sickened her when she first heard, heard that she would be sent to a place where snow didn’t fall all she’d gotten the word three years before she moved to Florida and had instantly gotten furious. It was mandatory to get the word three years before so they would be able to train and prepare…but…she didn’t want to go to a sun country. She wasn’t a Sun Fairy, they were the ones always sent to the warm places, they loved the sun, and the ocean. She preferred the forest, and the snow. They liked to swim and have water fights. She liked to ice skate and have snow ball fights. She wasn’t meant for a sun country. She was a Snow Angel.
But it had been urgent, that’s what she was told anyways. They didn’t want a Sun Fairy because they were too carefree and wild. Snow Angels were more innocent, more down to earth, and that’s what they needed. A girl with enough innocents to capture a man, yet with a bit of spunk to hold him, and according to ‘her’ she was the best. The one that could help him…him…she didn’t want him in the beginning. But the decision wasn’t up to her, she was told he would play a huge part in the end. That would be in his next life…or was it this one? But in order to do that he had to keep alive. And he was killing himself, but like she said…in the beginning…she didn’t want the responsibility. All she wanted was to go home, when she was walking with the rest of the group of teenies to meet one of their idols she kept thinking ‘why me?’…then she saw him. He had been sitting on the couch, with his head down and a guitar in his hands. He’s looked up and she could almost feel the pain he was in, the depression surrounding him in an aura of darkness almost made her drop to her knees and cry. She saw such anguish in his heart from the beginning, he had given up on what life he had and the potential he held. She then realized why she was chosen, and she was glad for it. She remembered that smile…the smile when he first saw her, it was fake for those around her, it never reached his eyes. She knew she could fix it and she yearned to do so. Something about him told her that he would change everything she’d known so far. And he had, she’d been given so many terrible assignments she’d forgotten that there was genuine human beings on earth, ones that loved and cared, ones that laughed for pleasure not pain.
Still. It confused her. She was usually sent to men or women who were dangerous, those who saut happiness in the sadness of others. Future molesters, rapists, and sometimes murderers, she would go to them, and change as much of them as she could. She didn’t always, it was a win-some, lose-some basis. Some just didn’t want to be saved. She guessed this was supposed to be an easy one, a break after so many years of working with lost souls. But looking back on the past two years, she realized it was a wake up call. It showed her that even the most privileged people could get lost, even those who seemed perfect could sink into damnation. It made her feel pity for humans on earth. They had been given such amazing gifts by the Lord, a paradise filled with beauty and love…yet they took such advantage of it. But that was human nature, and it was the way they were meant to be, she should know…she once was one. She sighed, her thoughts turned back to her assignment. She knew what it was, it was the same for all Fairies, Pixies, and Angels. No matter what they were Sun, Snow, or Rain they all had the same purpose, it was written: “They with the power of the stars shall defend the weak, and bring forth the light in all those who have been trapped by darkness.” It was pretty straight forward and simple, not like some lines and regulations that she was expected to follow. Sometimes she would stare at a rule for hours and still not know what in Tarterus it meant. She had always considered herself a smart woman…but what does ‘Love through the triangle, not through the square’ mean? Maybe she should have asked to just go to the Elision Fields…oh well…what’s done is done. Speaking of Heaven…where was he? He told her he was going down to see if they could get a car for the day…that was an hour ago. ‘I can just imagine him yelling at someone because they didn’t get the color he liked’ she thought while giggling. He was like that sometimes, but she loved it. At least he was a man who knew what he wanted. She looked back to the scene before her, the mountains looked like a light blue with the tops covered in snow and the clouds slowly drifting across them, below the mountains there was a few lines of trees that lead down to a half frozen lake that was surrounded with snow and looked perfect for skating on, she could almost feel her feet start itch to grab her skates, she smiled. It was beautiful. She heard the door open and the sound of a trolly roll in, she knew it was him. A few moment’s later two strong arms encircled her waist and a head rested on her shoulder “Hello Angel” he said. She smiled, it was only a nickname…but ironic that she actually was one but he didn’t know. She decided to talk later…tomorrow would be the last day. Even though he’d cut down tremendously. A few years before he’d been drinking until he passed out, and taking drugs at the same time, he’d also been getting into heavier drugs like Cocaine and Haroine, every night and before a show. But now, he’d let go of the heavier drugs, and only drank a when the occasion called for it, but that didn’t mean she was finished. She knew, she knew she had to show him that life could be a drug in itself, here was a beautiful man with the world in the palm of his hands, and talent to take him to the top of it all. And she had to do it tonight. She had to tell him everything, about her and who she was. Yet a sadness weighed on her heart, a sadness she’d wasn’t supposed to have…the misery of a broken heart. It was against the rules, but it was required in this case, in order for her to get to him she had to give a little of herself first. But now…now she would have to leave him…forever, a tear escaped down her face. Heaven forgive her…she loved him.
