Prologue

Unfaithful darkness in which I've slept,
Take my heart, and release it's depth,
Darkness crawling up my spine,
Take my soul, it's no longer mine.

Something ready to tare us apart,
Someone trying to stop this heart,
Holding us back from destiny,
Trying so hard to disagree,

Love so deep I cannot see,
Fear so steep it consumes me,
Hate so blind I cannot walk,
Sadness so controlling I cannot talk.

You've given up long ago,
The sorrow giving a mighty blow,
Seeing nothing ahead in years,
So much hate, so many tears.

Father mine, drenched in blood,
Unable to kill, unable to judge,
Feel my terror, take me in,
Hear my voice, feel my skin.

Los Angeles…
Angel tossed Gunn the sword and Gunn spun before hurling the sword into the demons neck. It’s head then fell to the ground and rolled down the alley, “Is that it?” Gunn asked.
Suddenly vampires surrounded them, each looking at them as if they were their next meal “No” Angel replied.
He pulled held up an axe as they all stared to fight.
“Does anyone notice the extra work we’ve had to do lately?” Angel asked walking into the building.
“Sounds like the demons had a real party while we were gone” Gunn told him.
Illyria cocked her head to the side “There was a celebration in our deaths.”
Gunn looked to her “Since the main demons killers were gone seems like the demon population moved back in.”
Wesley then walked out of the office and set a book on the counter, Angel walked over to him “Any luck finding who or what brought us back?” he asked.
Wesley still stared down at the book with a confused look, then suddenly looked back up to Angel “What? Oh sorry…no I haven’t found anything yet. If anything I’ve been finding more and more stuff telling of the event of our deaths. But…I was searching through some old stuff and I came upon these.”
Angel peered down at the books and looked over the words on the page “What is it?” he asked.
“Well, these Egyptian hieroglyphics I’ve been reading lately are pointing to something significant event about to happen” Wesley told him “They say that something big is going to happen soon, but I just don’t know what this last one says.”
“Sounds like another end of the world to me” Gunn said “But with Lorne gone and not coming back, we’ve kind of lost our connection to confirm that.”
Angel looked over the hieroglyphs and focused on the one Wesley was pointing to. He then nonchalantly started to sharpen his sword “It’s the end of the world.”
Wesley, Gunn, and Illyria all looked up. Then all shrugged “Oh no” Wesley said. “Damn” Gunn said.
Illyria smiled.

Six years earlier…
He walked around the tomb once more, searching out anyone who might have lagged behind, or decided to hide out in the corners. Usually no one was, it was usually was useless, he hated it. But then again it was his job, and it put food on the table. That’s why he stood in at the entrance all day long in the blistering heat with tourists, scientist, and geologists walking in and out all day long, then locking up after hours, making sure no one would stay behind. He sighed and decided to look along the hieroglyphics, he looked up them and then noticed something on the other side of the casket of King Tut. There was a large crack in the wall, he walked up and investigated it an old crack that looked like the wall had been removed, so he looked it up and down and saw a hawk symbol sticking out of the wall, so he lifted his hand and pushed it. He jumped and stepped back when the wall moved to the side. The sour air hit his nose and he coughed a few times before letting his eyes look up, the small back room was flooded with light after he didn’t know how many years. He stepped forward and looked around, it was bare, except for a casket. He gave a confused look, it looked like a normal American casket, but very old. He then peered around to see if anyone was there to see him, but he was the only one. He then stepped forward, approaching the casket when he heard a hiss. He jumped and looked down to see a King Cobra guarding the tomb, he quickly kicked it away then continued on his way to the casket, once before it he saw it was dusty, but not so much to be more than a century “How did this get in here?” he asked himself.
He shrugged and put his flashlight away, before reaching over and opening the casket. The light flooded the old, dark, rusty casket. He peered in and gasped.
There lay a beautiful maiden. Long brown hair cascaded around her neck and framed the beautiful skin of her face, her full lips held tightly together. She wore an old fashion red and black dress with a black sash entangled around her wrists, holding them fast. He then noticed the gold amulet around her neck; it was in the form of the pyramid, with an emerald eye in the center of it. He reached down and yanked it from her neck, then held it up. Pure gold…real emerald. He then looked down to put it away, when he looked up the young girl was face to face with him, but her face was now deformed and twisted, she smiled showing a mouth full of deep sharp fangs, she grabbed him and sank her teeth into his neck. He screamed.
