Wrists Drenched In Blood
Light flowed into the room, and filled it with a smile from the sun, beckoning the sleeping figure to awake and meet the day ahead. It would be filled with many mistakes and opportunities, it would bring forth the destinies of many and bring down the fate of others. Yet in this hectic and all the same beautiful day the woman on the bed slept with disturbing dreams, each with it's own message to her. The air that flowed through the window tickled her face lightly and pushed her brown hair back, as it picked up with a bit of force trying again to bring her to wake. Yet she still slept, deep in her own disturbing world, that this world was nothing completely. But slowly and surly, she began to awakin' her long lashes fluttered as a sigh escaped from her lips. She opened her eyes and closed them to block out the light that suddenly attacked her eyes, she groaned before opening her eyes again and settling them on the ceiling trying to gain focus. The constant pressure on her brain felt like someone slamming her head with a sledge hammer, and what food she had last night was creeping up in her throat. "I don't know why I'm not immune to this shit already" she groaned, before reaching to the dresser beside her bed, to find two tylenol and a glass of water.
Her hazel eyes looked around the dark room, and wondered where she was, she didn't see anything, she tired to move but realized that she couldn't. She looked across from her and saw a man nailed to a cross. He looked at her and his warm blue eyes made her gasp, she'd never seen such eyes. His blonde hair was matted to his head and tears of blood fell down his face to his thin lips. She then again tried to move, but nothing happened, she looked to her wrists, and then realized that she was nailed to a wooden cross, she looked down, her feet were also nailed to a wooden cross, her eyes moved up and saw that there was a crown on her head...a crown of thorns. That's when she felt a sharp pain in her stomach, she looked down to see a spear sticking through her rib. She opened her mouth and screamed.
Brian's eyes opened as he felt the push, he then looked to the bed beside him and saw no one beside him, "Nick?" he called.
Lakeside...
She walked down the rough road to the gas station. "Hey Lil!" she heard someone call.
Later that night...
The darkness in the room wasn't phased by the screams of the crowd, they had all come for one, or five things. And so far had enjoyed everything. His blue eyes looked through the darkness, you could see the shadows of everybody there whom had built his status to what it was today. He loved everyone of them, Brian stood up on stage to perform the music him and his friends had known so well, beside him was AJ. AJ turned to Brian to give him a signal, Brian lifted his mike to his mouth as he sang with his heart "Don't pretend your sorry, I know your not. You know you've got the power, to make me weak inside..."
"I'm not the kind of person you think I am, I'm not the anti-christ or the iron man" she sang as she held the beer to her mouth and smiled.
"Ready for the test?" he said with a slimy disgusting smile on his face.
The dark one in the corner looked with cold dark eyes that glared to him, "Is it time?" he asked.
The small one smiled looking into the dark blood filled lake nodded. The dark one then nodded "Do it" he said.
Brian heard the hammer sound in his ears as he dropped the mike and cried out as pain filled his wrists. He looked down and fell to his knees when he saw the blood pouring from his wrists around perfectly rounded wounds.
Lilith's scream filled the room in an ear shattering matter as she fell to the ground. "Lilith!" Dione cried as she jumped to the ground beside her friend.
Lilith looked to her wrists as she felt the sharp penitration in them, there was blood everywhere, and her hands were dripping with it. "What the fuck is going on!" she cried.
"Brian what happened!" Nick asked as he looked to Brian's bloody wrists.
Brian couldn't speak, the only thing he could see was the blood that seemed to be black as they squirted from his wrists.
"Mike!" Dione cried holding Lilith.
They carried Brian off the stage in a gurny, "Try stop the bleeding!" Nick cried as the paramedics ran Brian to the ambulance that was waiting outside.
They ran her into the room as nurses surrownded the bed and tried thier best to stop the bleeding. She couldn't understand the voices, she couldn't understand anything but the pain. She then slowly started to slip into darkness. BEEP! The heart moniter sounded. "We're loosing her!" one nurse cried.
She smiled slightly knowing Charlize put them there, desperate to take care of her oldersister, as Lilith had done her. Lilith got up and walked into the kitchen, poured herself a cup of coffee, and sat at the table.
Lilith jumped to find herself in a pool of cold sweat. She still felt the pain of the spear, so jumped up and ran to the bathroom.
"Right here" he looked to the edge of his bed to see Nick playing video games.
"Already?" Brian asked "What time is it?"
"About 10" Nick replied nonchalantly.
"You really need to give that a break sometime man" Brian told him as he walked into the bathroom.
He brushed his teeth and when he raised his head he saw a man with a gotee and a crown of thorns on his head with blood dripping down his face, Brian’s eyes widened as he looked to the man, the man screamed, Brian gasped and turned to see nothing. He breathed hard as he looked around the bathroom then to the mirror again. He then walked out of the bathroom and started to dress. Nick looked to Brian and saw his distressed face. "What's up with you?" he asked.
Brian looked to Nick "Nothing" he said "I just thought I saw something in the bathroom."
Nick nodded "What do you wanna do today?" he asked.
Brian shrugged "We can't really do anything."
"I was gonna go swimming" Nick suggested.
"In the hotel or somwhere else?" Brian asked.
Nick shrugged "Anywhere...but after rehersal, you know how Kev gets."
Brian smiled and nodded.
She turned to see her best friend Dione Red Feather sitting on a bench under a shade beside the gas station. Lilith walked over to her friend and slapped Dione's hand as she sat down "Where you off to?" Dione asked.
"Just getting something to eat then heading home" Lilith replied.
"Oh, hey did you hear about Heather?" Dione asked.
"Heather Carter?" Lilith asked as she lit her ciggarette.
"She got beat down by the Smiths' for beating Alexandra" Dione replied.
"Well that's what she gets" Lilith smiled "Stupid white bitch."
"Hey we're heading to your brother's house, he's having a big party" Chris Holloway spoke as he walked up to the girls, "You comin'?"
Lilith nodded "Yeah" she said "Hey you guys seen David around?"
"Man forget that cracker" Andrew Red Young Man (Dione's cousin) said beside Chris "what you need is a real man."
"Fuck you" Lilith told him "I need to talk to him, and he ain't a dumb cracker."
"Yeah" Andrew said "Just some white boy lookin' for some pussy" he then looked to Lilith "Looks like he got it."
"Man you'll shut the fuck up if you know what's good for you" she told him.
"Girl what you gonna do?" Andrew asked.
"I don't have to do shit" Lilith replied "But they will."
Andrew then turned to see Lilith's cousin's in a car behind them, staring straight at him.
He then backed off "Aight" he said "If that's the way you wanna be."
Lilith rolled her eyes as he walked away. She then looked to her cousins "I'll be right back" she said.
She walked to the car "What you want?" she asked.
"How much money you got?" Josh asked.
"Psh" Lilith said "About 20 for groceries."
"Don't worry" Josh told her "I ain't tryin' to bum money from you. I'm here to give you some."
"Oh, welfare day?" Lilith asked
.
"It's all we look forward to around here?" he replied giving her an envelope.
"Hey Lil!" Brandon called from the back "What you doin' tonight?"
"I'm heading to Calgary" Lilth replied "Mike's havin' a party."
"Yeah well, we'll catch you later okay?" Josh said.
"Later" Lilth waved then turned and slipped the envelope into her pocket.
She then walked to Dione, "Let me have a drag" she said.
Dione took a final drag and handed it to Lilith "Have the rest" she said "So what did they want?"
"They just wanted to give me some money" Lilith replied.
"I guess you'll have some more groceries this weekend" Dione said.
Lilith laughed then stomped the cigarette underneath her shoe, "You gonna help me with them?"
"Might as well, got nothin' better to do."
The two girls then walked into the store.
Dione put the bag down and looked around the room "Whoa, what time did you wake up this morning? This place looks like a fuckin' white family lives here" she said.v
Lilith looked around then shrugged "About 5:30" she said "Woke up and couldn't get back to sleep."
"Why couldn't you sleep?" Dione asked putting things away.
"I woke up and started puking."
"Morning sickness?"
"I don't now, I hope not."
"Well if you are, you've got options."
Lilth looked to Dione "You ain't serious."
"I'm not" Dione said "You kill that baby, and I'll kill you."
"I'm thinking about going to my uncles" Lilith told her "To ask what I should do."
Dione turned to Lilith "Why are you always goin' to your uncles?" she asked "He ain't a saint, we got a church right in town. Go there."
Lilith shook her head "You know that aint' my way, someone should burn that church down. It's a symbol of what asshole's like that premier of ours put my people through. Besides, my uncles more in touch with the spirits than any of these 'fathers'."
Dione smiled "Always the religious one, sometimes I wish more of our people were like you."
Lilith laughed "I'd be scared shitless if anyone else was like me."
"The kids at school?"
"Yeah, thank God. Alex's going to Mark's for the weekend, Charlize is staying with my Grannie."
"Had if figured out already?" Dione asked.
Lilith nodded and sat down at the table. Suddenly they heard the front door open and heard footsteps go up the stairs, and toward the kitchen "Hey how's my savages" Angeline North Peigan asked.
"Whatever" Lilith rolled her eyes.
"Woman you know you're eyes are gonna get right sore then fall out with the way you're always rolling them" Angelina told her.
"Girl it ain't my fault I live on the 'idiotic' Rez" Lilith replied.
Angelina smiled then put her stuff down and walked to the stereo by the stove, then put a CD in "Let's put in some good shit" she said as Ja Rule blasted from the stereo.
Lilith jumped up "Gotta get my shit ready" she said "Don't make a mess."
She then walked to her room.
The room was filled with drunk men and women who were so high she doubted they'd last till morning. But she didn't care, the light above her head was so bright, it helped her escape the life she lived. And she loved it, "Fuckin' wicket party!" Dionne cried as she clanged her beer together with Lilith's.
Mike came running to see his sister in a pile of blood on the floor. "What happened" he asked.
"I don't know" Dione cried "Someone call and ambulance!"
"Already done" Josh said running up.
They all tried to stop the bleeding but with no avail.
"He was just singing then..." Nick's voice trailed off as he watched the ambulance drove off.
"Did you see his wrists?"
"Guys you have to adress the crowd" the stage manager said walking up.
They all looked to Howie, he sighed "Meet me at the hospital" he said.
They all turned to leave when he grabbed AJ "What?" AJ asked.
"I ain't goin' out there alone" Howie said.
AJ sighed then followed Howie.
"What's happening to her!" Dione cried.
"Miss you're going to have to get back" a security guard said.
"What's going on!" Nick asked running into the room.
"Step back please sir" the security guard told him.
"Fuck that!" Nick cried.
They all heard the loud beep "Brian!" Kevin cried.
Howie and AJ ran in to see Kevin and Nick standing by the emergency door. The doctor looked as a second one was brought in "What's going on!" he said "Two of them with the same wounds!"
"Concentrate doctor" A nurse told him.
Outside Dione looked to her side as four guys stood by the door "What the hell are the Backstreet Boys doing here?" she asked herself.
Nick looked to see a girl and a man standing beside him.
Everyone jumped as Brian and Lilith sat up at the same time with a scream. They then dropped back down as the nurses saw that thier hearts had stopped bleeding. "Grab the paddles!" a doctor cried.
They grabbed some paddles then squirted strange ooze onto them then got ready to shock. "Clear!" a nurse cried.
Suddenly the lights went out, everyone rushed to try to understand what was happening, and for a brief moment there was silence that filled the room, before they felt a strong power flow over the room. Light then filled the room, and everyone saw Brian and Lilith sitting up and staring as though they were in a trance. The nurses looked to the heart moniters to see them at a steady pace.
Lilith looked around "What's going on?" she asked.
Brian looked to the guys "Where am I?" he asked.
Dione, Mike, Nick, Howie, Kevin and AJ all ran in "Is he/she okay?" they all asked.
Lilith looked around "Who are you?" she asked.
"You're in the Foothills Hospital, Calgary" a nurse replied "Do you know your name?"
Lilith saw Dione and Mike beside her bed with worried looks on thier faces. She then looked to the other side of the room where four men stood staring at her. Another on the bed beside her, his head but she knew who he was. What had just happened?
