Pete Seeger; Mexican Blues

[For the sake of study and comparison rather than for pure pleasure one verse and chorus of the following two recordings of the same song were played alternately and successively starting with the first listed. I found that I enjoyed both but still prefer the Carter Family version. Since the Carter Family is long gone let us enjoy the new groups as several carry on rather well. Thanks to all the folks who still perform and record strong songs from the great traditions we have so happily and fortuitously inherited.]

Rise; I Will Love You Always; Posing As Human; www.riseband.co.uk 2004 [Warning: this is a song in which takes place a suicide. I cannot and will not support suicide. Rather may we as members of a civilized world lend support to those who are considering such a permanent solution to a temporary problem. God loves us all and can heal us of anything that is hurting us so much that we'd consider ending the life he has so graciously given.Trust him. Believe in him. He is the great healer, now and forever. Brothers and sisters are we, here for each other, not to go off on some tangent of selfishness thinking we own our own life and that we have the privilege to destroy it. We belong to God, our creator. Thank you, dear God, for our creative gifts, for our lives and relationships as troubling as they sometimes seem. Please give us wisdom to respectfully use our lives and gifts for the benefit of all, especially for those so troubled and faithless as to consider suicide. I've been there and I know what a low spot that is. In the name of Jesus Christ, son of Almighty God, maker of heaven, earth and all things visible and invisible.

As Gadsden, Alabama banjoist Jim Connor used to say to his audiences: thank you for the precious jewel of your attention!

Although I want more feedback on my radio program unfortunately I haven't much time or internet computer access to respond. My big problem this week is trying to find an insect repellant to which I havn't any central nervous system or allergic reaction. Have you any ideas on that? At home in the woods of Coho I'm getting bit multiple times every day. Citronella and products like 'Off!' bother me. I've seen these new propane fueled devices that kill flying insects but I'd guess they kill the beneficial ones along with the others. Are there any sensible entomologists in the audience? Advice sought.
