Dedicated to serving the needy families of Carroll County Happy are those who consider the poor. -Psalm 41:1 A publicly supported non-profit organization. All planning, supervision, and labor is done by volunteers. All food, supplies, and equipment is donated or purchased from cash donations of volunteer contributions. Volunteer to work at the Kitchen one or more days each month. It takes 27 volunteers each day! 2. Contribute cash to help defray the monthly expenses of the kitchen. It takes approximately $2000.00 per month to buy supplies. 3. You or any organization to which you belong can collect and contribute canned goods and/or non-perishable items to the Kitchen. 4. When you buy groceries for the Kitchen, please have them bagged in paper sacks and save them for the Kitchen. Questions? Christmas season volunteers needed the week of December 9-13, 2002 for packing December 14 and 16, 2002 and for delivery December 17, 2002. Currently collecting for Christmas Boxes: Needing a total of about 20,000 cans of vegetables, soup, meats, fruit, pastas, potatoes. Also needing about 850 each of 2 pound sacks of flour, cornmeal and sugar plus peanut butter, jelly, cake mix, jello and pudding, dry beans, dry pasta, fresh potatoes, onions, fruits, chicken, ham or turkey. -------- ======== If you live in Carrollton County, Georgia area please consider volunteering at the Carroll County Soup Kitchen. If you can wash dishes or make peanut butter sandwiches you'll feel useful there. The Kitchen is open to any hungry person the last full week of every month, Monday-Friday, from 11 AM to noon. Volunteers usually work from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. As of 2002 the Kitchen has been producing free meals for 19 years. The Kitchen prepares over 4,000 lunches each week---soup and sandwiches. A hot meal at the kitchen plus donated food to go home. It costs $.60 cents to serve each meal. Anyone who comes to the kitchen is served free of charge. The kitchen is open Monday through Friday the last full week of the month. ======= Carroll County Soup Kitchen
