WHAT WE DREAM

by Stephen Sedberry Our world's not ready for justice; She's an idea who's never found her time. Our world's not ready for freedom, we've gotten in the habit of cryin'. CHORUS: So, everyday we need to dream a dream of the better world our better sight has seen 'cause what we dream is destined to come true; the future's up to me and to you. It's hard, oh, so hard to tow the line 'though somedays, for sure, we feel just fine; but when the dark clouds bring us too much rain we're back swimmin' 'round in our pain. This old world's so big and so bold, full of gentle folks and tortured souls; Distractions come like fast movin' trains to sweep us off the side track again. It's hard to love the ones who beat us down with words or thoughts or guns or fists or sounds but it's harder still to hate life to the core when foolishness we could learn to ignore.
