A local Vietnamese farmer was admired yesterday for helping to stop a passenger train before an accident could happen.
The farmer ran to the nearest railway guard to report that there was a huge hole in the railway track near his home. As he was doing that, they saw the train approaching.
The railway guard quickly waved for the train to stop. The train which had 500 passengers on board stopped about 300 metres from the damaged track.
The farmer
and guard will be rewarded.

No one should be forgotten during festivals, especially the needy.
With this intention, a team of staff from a non-governmental organization (NGO) visited the paediatric ward at the Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan today to bring some cheer to the sick children.
They distributed RM20 and a mini hamper worth RM30 consisting of a soft toy, biscuits, chocolate bars, raisins and sweets to each child.
Despite being sick, these children were still very excited to get the visit from the caring citizens.

Festivals and birthday celebrations are exciting to a child. However, nothing is more exciting than the school holidays.
Many children feel that there are many ways for them to enjoy their holidays. Many plan to visit places of interest. Some children are lucky enough to be able to go abroad to countries like Australia or Korea. Others like to do family-oriented activities like playing with their cousins. The rest are simply planning to do anything that will keep them busy like reading and watching TV programmes.
In short, children always look forward to school holidays..

INSTANT NOODLES TOPS INVENTION LIST
Even though the Japanese are famous for clever inventions, they believe that instant noodles and karaoke were the best.
They believe that instant noodles are now not just a national food but a global food. Instant noodles were first created in 1958. A total of 43.7 billion cups and packets are consumed all over the world a year.
Karaoke, whichmeans “the empty orchestra”, allows people to pretend that they are good singers even when they are not.
