A farmer in Thailand has opened the first training school for monkeys.
Thais
ask
for a lot of money to work in farms because of the hard work.
So
Tawee Phantacang,
a fruit farmer, has decided to use monkeys
to do the job.
In the training school, the monkeys are taught to pick fruits. When they do a good job, Tawee pays them with bananas. It is very cheap, says Tawee, a former army sergeant. The monkeys do not complain or demand for pay.
With proper training, the monkeys become good workers in the farms. Tawee uses them in his coconut and mango orchards. He also sells trained monkeys to farmers in the surrounding areas.

HOW TO OVERCOME THE FEAR OF WRITING
As a teacher, I have noticed that students love to talk. Yet, when we ask them to write an essay, they find it very hard.
To help secondary school students write, an English teacher came up with an interesting idea.
Firstly, she allowed her students to choose their owntopic. Then she encouraged them to research the topic. They make short notes before writing the essay.
In this simple way, she succeeded in getting her students to write on topics like drug abuse, sports, pets, space exploration and racism.

OUR UNFORGETTABLE JAZZ KING
Malaysias veteran jazz singer Zain Azman died last Thursday at the age of 65. His career as a singer began after he won a Quran-reading contest for students in Selangor.
Later his siblings encouraged him to join a band but his real break came during the live recording of a Hari Raya programme. Compere Zaiton Zaaba invited a member of the audience to come forward to sing a song. Zain volunteered and his singing was noticed by musician Alfonso Soliano.
Zain became the first Malay entertainer to sing bilingually.
