SHANE EVANS Drums

Shane Evans was born April 26, 1970. He grew up in Stockbridge, GA, with the rest of the band members. He started his musical pursuits when he was ten-years-old and got a bass guitar for Christmas. Though a concert band drummer throughout middle school and high school, he was always being recruited by friends to play bass in various basement bands. Also talented on the drums, Shane pursued this interest. In 1989, when the opportunity arose to play drums with Ed in his pre-Collective outfit, Marching Two-Step, he grabbed it. Marching Two-Step evolved into Collective Soul, with Shane as the band's drummer. He also occasionally contributes backing vocals (such as yelling out "all aboard" to start off the cover tune "Crazy Train"). A fast-food junkie, the band once started a concert without Shane, who was down the street eating pizza.
