Falling Star Creek

Back to Shelter
Not long ago a star fell over the valley, or at least that's what you've been told. Some say strange and mysterous things occur where a star falls. 'Now, stars don't fall down on places' you think and you've even said so to the ones back at the shelter. But, this is a magical valley and magical things happen here. So, now you find yourself on the way into the more secret parts of the valley to find this shooting star and its descent.

You wander about and soon find a old dried out creek, perhaps an old part of the great river that flows in the valley. You see something shimmer further along and something dark that flickers in the air. As you get closer you can hear faint sounds of wings. 'Wings?' you think. "Since when does stars have wings?' But as you slowly draw even nearer the spot you see that it is no star that causes the sound, but an unusally dark wyvern. It flys around over a pair of boulders, tiny strings and straws of grass hanging from its mouth. From behind the boulders you get a quick glimpse of something...The fallen star perhaps? Is this such a truly magical place that stars really can fall down?

"Um, excuse me." an aluring voice says right beside your ears. You quickly turn around but see no one, then you feel a sudden weight in your right hand; it's the dark wyvern.
"You?" you stutter. When you touch the wyvern she looks grimly at you and when you try again she bites back!
"Who else?" she asks and croons and looks at you with dark eyes. There's something about her voice and look that makes you want to go to sleep...
"Who are you?" you ask while trying to get a grip of reality.
"I'm known as NightenDawn, but my real name is Nitaralarentinaryn. Just as all wyverns in this valley I lived by the lake but one night while flying I saw a shooting star..."
"And you followed it here? Is the star really here?"
"No, of course not. You should know stars can't fall down like that."
"But why are you here then? If there aren't any star, I mean."
"When I saw that shooting star I stopped and looked at it and then when I looked down I saw something strange on the ground. So I flew nearer."
"And what was it?" The wyvern looks at you in a dreaming fashion. Then she flies away and motions for you to follow. There behind the boulders you see a large fox-looking creature with feathered wings and five tails.

"On the ground I saw a few cocoons, but only one was still alive. I reckon some kind of thief took them and then forgot them there. I've taken care of him since then. And now he's hatched."
"Hatched?"
"Yes. It was an egyptis cocoon, and those, of course, becomes egyptises. This guy is Teharan."
"I see." you say while watching the small creature where it lies among twigs and branches that the wyvern has made into a nest.
"Well, if you excuse me I believe it's his nap-time now and I must continue to bild ohn his nest to keep him warm enough. We're far from the desert were they usually live and it gets quite cold out here in night's like these."
"Don't let me disturb you." you say and step back while the dark wyvern flies off to fetch more building material.
Behind the cocoon you see a quickly made sign, probably in case visitors come when NightenDawns not around.
Don't Disturb! Be careful!
