Darken Grove
In the great forest west of the Shelter you soon find tracks from big paws and something that looks like the feet of an eagle. You follow the tracks and soon the dense forest opens up into a grove. When you enter it you step on an old twig and you can hear a loud "crack". From your right you hear a silent grovel and when you look in that direction you see a huge wolf.
"Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you. I'm MercuryLight,
a Darkwolf. Have you seen SheerTime? He should be around here somewhere..."
"SheerTime?" you ask.
"Yes. He's a glue grynon and should be here by now."
"Griffon?"
"Yes. It's just like a gryphon." Just as you are talking
to the wolf you hear flaps of wings and the huge, blue grynon lands.
"Yes, we have a visitor. Where have you've been?"
"I've been at the Plateau talking with Ghana. I had that new story you know."
"Oh, yes. SheerTime is a bit of a storyteller and Ghana writes them down." the wolf says.
"Well, I think we'd better go now Merc if we're gonna make it before the sun goes down."
"Yes, yes. We're going howling. Well. see you another time?"
You nod and the both creatures flies and trots of into the forest.
