True Love Never Dies

CHAPTER3

-So why are you here?

-Long story. Maybe I will tell you next time, Odango. Damn, I have to go, hope to see you all at school, especially you, Odango Atama. Who knows, you might be the lucky girl. -Seiya winked and ran away.

-What was he talking about? -Usagi said and drank a bit of her coke.

-There will be a competition between Seiya and Yaten and they will pick a girl as their partner.

-Why? -asked Usagi.

Rei got mad.

-Because they had a little argument. -Ami said.

-Ooooohhhhh! So when are we going, sounds interesting. -Usagi said.

Minako looked at her watch.

-In ten minutes. - she said.

They all talked for a few minutes and Ami turned to Usagi.

-Are you sure you’re okay ? I am asking you because I understand it must be hard, since you broke up with Mamoru.

-You did what??? -Rei, Minako, Makoto shouted.

-He left me, girls. I don’t want to talk about it, let Ami tell you.

-So, are you okay?

-The strangest thing is that I am. I’m feeling wonderful!

Rei sucked in her breath.

-Is it because of Seiya? -everyone looked at Usagi.

-I don’t know, maybe?

-Ah !!!!! -shouted Minako and everyone looked at her. - We have to run or we’ll be late!

So they paid for everything and ran to school.

Seiya got to school and met Yaten and Taiki.

-Here I am and ready to win!

-So you finally decided to come or what? -said Taiki.

-Yep.

-Well, everything is ready, Seiya. You will have to pick 7 girls and choose one of them as your partner.

-Will we pick out names from the box? -asked Yaten.

-I knew you would try to cheat, so I put the box on purpose.

-Taiki, you devil. -Seiya said and laughed. -So how will we choose those 7 girls?

-Each girl will get a number and you will pick out a number.

-What if we pick some fat old lady? -Yaten said as he imagined himself in the arms of such a person and almost fainted.

-Is poor little Yaten scared? -laughed Seiya.

-I’m not, but you should be. -replied Yaten.

-Well, I’m leaving for a while, don’t worry, I’ll be back. -and he left.

The five girls were running fast. Minako and Rei were in front, and Ami, Makoto and Usagi were way behind. They were trying to catch up, but only Makoto succeeded. The other two just ran behind.

-Why are you making so much fuss about it, we’ll make it in time! -shouted Usagi, but the others didn’t hear her.

When they were finally there, Usagi put her hand on Makoto’s shoulder, trying to catch her breath, she said :

-What now?

-Now we go there and get a number, you silly! -Rei said and looked at Minako, who was already there and shouting “Yaten , I’m coming!!!” so Rei sweat-dropped. -Let’s go.

They all got their numbers and Minako was number 205, Rei was 58, Makoto was 184 and Usagi was 289. They all walked happily to the scene, except Ami, who was searching for Taiki.

Someone was watching the four girls and was looking at their numbers, actually at one of their numbers, Usagi’s. Guess who it was? Seiya, of course. He was making sure he would pick Usagi.

Usagi noticed someone behind her and turned around. But Seiya was already gone, so Usagi just went on, as if nothing had happened. Meanwhile Seiya was walking to the backstage with his arms over his head when he noticed Ami standing near the stage looking confused.

-I told you I’d arrange everything, you can come with me, Ami. I’ll bring you to Taiki.

-Thank you, I was having trouble trying to find the entrance. -she blushed. - I wasn’t sure if Taiki wanted me to come?

-Don’t be silly Ami. Who wouldn’t want such a cute girl like you around. -Seiya smiled. -I already talked to Taiki. He’ll be very happy to have you.

Amy was blushing , but she didn’t say anything. She just followed quietly behind. They soon reached a small room where they saw Yaten reading some magazine and Taiki, who was writing something in his computer .Seiya said:

-Well, Taiki, aren’t ya going to say hello to your fellow judge?

Taiki rose his eyes up and saw a sweet girl with blue hair and blue eyes. He immediately gave her a loving smile, went up to her and, and, surprising everyone gave her a big hug.

-What’s the matter, Taiki? -said Ami blushing. -We saw each other yesterday.

-Can’t I show you a little love in front of others?

-Since when are you two together? -asked Yaten surprised and dropped the magazine on the floor. -We only got back two days ago!

-Don’t you know anything, Yaten? It would take me a second if Usagi… -Seiya didn’t finish.

-Loved you? -asked Yaten.

-You shouldn’t say things like that. - said Taiki, letting go of Ami. -I don’t want you two arguing. You have to be ready to go to the scene, the competition is about to start. -he walked away and Ami followed.

-Ah, I don’t know how I can control myself sometimes, they are such children! -Taiki said.

Amy looked at him warmly and said:

-I have the same problem with Usagi and Rei, I know how it feels.

Taiki smiled and put his arms around Amy, then he lowered his head and kissed her soft warm lips. She kissed him back and soon they were kissing each other passionately. At the mean time Seiya and Yaten were left alone.

-I’m sorry I said that, Seiya. -Yaten said.

-You, apologizing, to me? That’s new. -Seiya teased.

-I just wanted this competition to be fun, well, you know.

-Are you scared I might win?

-Do you have to make fun of everything?

-Sorry, it’s just my hobby. -Seiya smiled.

-And your other is Usagi, right? I wish you could have her as your partner, it would be a good chance for you two to get closer. -Yaten gave a wink at Seiya, who had a smile that could have reached the moon.

-I will have her as my partner, don’t you worry about that. Worry about your partner, Yaten. -Seiya turned to the door. -Come on, we have to go, Usagi is waiting.

Yaten was angry with Seiya. *How can he be so sure he’ll pick Usagi?* Yaten was thinking all the way to the stage. Seiya seemed to know what he was thinking and said:

-I made sure of it.

They soon reached the stage, where they saw Taiki and Amy sitting at a table, smiling at each other. Seiya was also smiling, he was thinking to himself: *Soon will I also live so happily with ...* Then he had an other thought. *Who am I kidding? She will never love me, she will always love her Mamoru... But I won't give up, ever!* When he stopped thinking, he realized that it was his turn to pick the numbers.

Usagi was standing in the middle of the crowd and holding her number. *I wish he would pick me...*

Seiya walked up to the microphone and smiled.

-Hi girls! -loud screams of girls were heard as he said this. -Okay, be patient. The numbers are... 125, 85, 96,78,4,56 and my lucky number 289.

Usagi looked at her number and was in shock. He said her number! Minako, Makoto, and Rei were screaming:

-Seiya picked YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of the picked girls walked up to the stage and stood in a line. Usagi was the only one who was blushing.

-Now, Seiya you have to pick the lucky one. -said Taiki, but he already knew the answer.

Seiya walked to Usagi and whispered something in her ear -I told you, you might be the lucky one, Odango.- Then he kissed her cheek softly. Usagi felt something like a refreshing summer breeze touching her cheek . It was something very pleasurable .Seiya turned away from her and said: Number 289 will be my partner .

-Good .Now let Yaten pick the girls.

-I pick 58, 205, 16, 73, 2, 184, and 63.

When all of the girls reached Yaten , he noticed that he knew three of them: Rei, Minako, Makoto. Yaten had a very hard choice, he stood there thinking. Then he finally spoke:

-My partner will be…number…everyone stood silent and listened. - 205.

-Yes!!!!!!!!! -Minako screamed while jumping up and down.

When all of the girls walked away from the stage very unhappy, Minako said quietly:

-Aren’t you going to give me a kiss like Seiya gave Usagi?

Yaten whispered back -If you are waiting for that to happen, I might as well pick another partner.

-Sorry?-she whispered back.

-So let the contest begin! -said Taiki. -First will be sport. Let Ami choose which sport you will be competing in. Ami, please. -Taiki gave her a box and she took one card out.

-You will play baseball.

Seiya looked at Yaten with an evil smile. Yaten looked unhappy.

-Oh no, they have played baseball, besides, I’m terrible at sports. -Yaten looked at Minako and had a thought: *But Minako isn’t and Usagi is so clumsy. Hey, I do have a chance.*

Then they all went to the dressing room to change.
