How would you feel if your family was murdered and you were the only one to survive - barely- and after undergoing major re-constructive surgery you find out what truly happened... that everyone you loved are now dead... or are they? In this story the heroin is saved by a mysterious man. He who helps to rebuild her - literally! - and trains her to seek the revenge she needs. Still mourning the death of her daughter only to find that it was all a setup by her husband so he could go into hiding... and not alone - with one of HER friends! This book was so good I definitely recommend it! If any of you have seen the film "Double Jeopardy" you may see some resemblance in the main characters played in "DJ" by Ashley Judd. |

Following in Johansens usual style we encounter Kate Denby, a medical doctor who specializes in the research of genetics. She has found a drug that could be a medical breakthrough the only thing is someone doesn't want this to be know. She struggles for her life but as always, comes out victorious. |

3) And Then You Die |

This was such an awesome book it's hard to think that someone would actually go to such extreme lengths to test a weapon... Bess Grady is a photojournalist who has seen it all and though she thinks her latest assignment is just to capture the beauty of a little town in the mountains of Mexico. But nothing could prepare her for the sight she was to meet other that the fact that it was a sight she was long ago familiar with. History repeats itself as the body's of the townspeople are all found dead killed by anthrax plus the fact that the government knew about a little too soon...With the help of Kaldak, a government agent - don't even bother asking whose, you never will know- she escapes and seeks revenge on the leader. The only thing that actually suxs about this book is that even the person in the end who remains closest to her is the one the most responsible and that she was being tested on purpose unfortunately she never finds that out... ughhh! (this was an xmas present- thanx Schel!) |

4) The Face of Deception |

|
Billionaire John Logan has a job for forensic sculptor Eve Duncan... The only thing is that someone else doesn't want anyone to know who the skull Logan's been hiding actually belongs too. I love the descriptive prose of this novel, Johansen actually makes you see all the gory details! She takes you step by step through the discovery of the identity of the mysterious skull. This shows the story of a man who will do anything be he dead or alive to keep his power and ideas in place in society. I found that this was actually a pretty good story with an awesome twist in the end that I wasn't even expecting! Just for that I'm going to say CHECK IT OUT yourself you don't need me to tell you who it is! |

5) The Killing Game |

Part 2 of "The Face of Deception". I don't know about you but I was completely disappointed with the outcome of this book. Why couldn't she have just let it be with The Face of Deception... Johansen created the character of Eve Duncan so well I was almost religiously checking the shelves for it to come out. All I can say for this one... don't hold your breath. |
