Seneca Capital Management, Inc. is pleased to announce that Seneca Capital Partners 1999, in partnership with senior management, private investors, and Austin Capital Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio have acquired the C. E. White Company.

The C. E. White Company (C. E. White) manufactures and markets seats and seating systems for original equipment manufacturers, bus body builders and van converters serving the school bus, commuter van, para transit, recreational and government vehicle markets. C. E. White holds the exclusive license to a patented child restraint seat (CRS) for school and commercial bus seats in the United States and Canada. The CRS is the same multi-patented design licensed to Chrysler and built directly into Chrysler's minivan seats. In addition, the company also holds the worldwide exclusive rights to a newly designed (patent pending) shock absorbing student safety system (SSS) that utilizes a shock absorbing frame with lap/shoulder seat belts. The SSS was designed in consultation with regulatory agencies to comply with seat belt safety standards being implemented for school and commercial buses.

C. E. White was founded in 1937 and began to manufacture seats in 1950. The company is located in New Washington, Ohio and operates from facilities with 69,000 square feet. The company has seventy employees.
