Mandurah matters

'Hub of the Peel Region' (72 klms south of Perth)

Mandurah is a great place to live and work, so it's not surprising we're all active ambassadors of our City. With our unique coastal lifestyle and exciting city developments Mandurah is fast becoming a centre for community business, leisure and tourism.
The City of Mandurah and Council Offices are now the most modern and up to date buildings in the State. Adjoining is the Performing Arts Centre, again a world class venue, and over looks the Peel Estuary...magnificent!

The Mandurah City Senior Citizens Centre is also within this precinct.
Located on Ormsby Terrace, by the Reading Boardwalk Cinemas, the Mandurah Senior Citizens Centre has a membership of over 2,800 members.

Peel Community Legal Service receives State Government funding.

  • FREE LEGAL ADVICE
  • FAMILY LAW INFORMATION SESSIONS
  • LEGAL EDUCATION

Western Australians will have better access to legal aid services with the State Government's allocation of more than $3.3million for Community Legal Service centres.
I am very pleased that the Peel Community Legal Service will receive $1.3million over the next three years to establish a new community legal centre in Mandurah, with outreach proposed to Murray, Boddington, Serpentine and Waroona. This new service will replace the current voluntary service, which has been operating since 2000. At last the efforts of so many dedicated community people has been rewarded with this announcement!

The Peel Community Legal Service is an essential service that provides urgently needed legal advice to individuals and groups in the Peel Region who cannot afford to pay for their own legal assistance. The State Government grant will help the non-profit organisation to continue to provide the free legal service to low-income and disadvantaged individuals and groups. Many people living within the Peel region rely on the services they provide, such as legal advice, assistance, referral, representation, education, advocacy and housing support.

    DID YOU KNOW?
Annually, the 72km Perth to Mandurah railway - which passes through nine new stations south of the river - will take the place of almost 9.6 million motor vehicle journeys. It will service almost 400,000 people - a quarter of Perth's population.

.......The next major project is the Peel Deviation. This when completed will take much traffic away from Mandurah city and give direct access to the SW region from Perth.
