Chapter 36
~
Karlie ~
-
Now what is that
and why is my name on it?, I asked as I put my glasses on after we mucked around
on the instruments for a while.
-
This my young
Lady is a contract., John said.
-
Whoa! What
type?, Dee asked.
-
Record!, Bek
said looking at the look on Buffy’s face.
-
Whoa! Hold on!
That’s a record deal? Ha my ass!, I said in shock.
-
Yes Miss
Waterson! At the moment it’s just to record a demo and a couple of songs and
depending on what the management thinks then it will go further., John said.
-
What company?, I
asked.
-
Not Trans Con!,
John laughed.
-
Jive!, Buffy
stated.
-
When do we
start? I mean with Buffy in here., Dee asked him.
-
In a months time
we will start recording but there are some songs I have given Buffy that I would
think you girls would like.
-
They ain’t bad
either., Buffy added.
-
Okay. Look… I
gotta think this over., Dee said.
-
We all do., Bek
added.
-
I’m in!, Buffy
said and I just looked at her.
-
Count me too…,
I sighed.
-
You sure?, Buffy
said.
-
I know if I say
no, I may regret it for the rest of my life. I’ll give anything a go at least
once.
-
If I could jump
out of bed I would!, Buffy squealed.
*
A Few Hours Later *
-
Bek talk to your
parents and if they think we are good they will do something for us., I said to
her as Dee and myself walked out of the hospital with the contracts in our
hands.
-
How do we know
people will like us?, Dee asked.
-
Honestly? No
idea!, I said after thinking about it.
-
We could be
famous., Bek said slowly.
-
We could also
not., Dee said.
-
We don’t know
if we are good enough., I added.
-
I don’t know.,
Dee sighed.
-
You know what
let’s not talk about it any more. If it happens it does and if it don’t…
well yeah!, I said.
As soon as I dropped Bekah and Dee’s to their place, heck
they’re neighbors. I ran into my room and grab my guitar with a pencil and a
bunch of papers. I had a few words coming into my head, enough to make a song,
but after an hour, it almost didn’t lead no where.
-
“I’m sick of
telling you all the time; Of justifying what’s on my mind; I wish you’d make
some sense you’re making me mad.”, I sung while strumming my guitar.
-
Shit that
sucks!, I added as I started to get frustrated.
-
Not to bad.,
Ryan said walking into my room.
-
Who let you in?,
I said looking at him.
-
Your dad
actually., he said while adding a smile.
-
Go dad!, I
muttered.
-
Play that again.
In our 6 months you haven’t ever played for me., Ryan said sitting in front of
me.
-
And you
haven’t sung. Don’t go lying saying you guy’s don’t!
-
This is about
you not me., he laughed.
-
Well you heard
all I got.
-
Play.
-
“I’m sick of
telling you all the time; Of justifying what’s on my mind; I wish you’d make
some sense.”, I sung.
-
“You’re all
over the place.”, he added smiling.
-
“You’re all
over the place; You make me feel like I…”
-
“Never wanna
see your face.”, Ryan sung.
-
“I don’t
need to hear the lie’s that you tell; I’m starting to think, I don’t know
you that well.”, I sung.
-
How easy is it?
You got skill., Ryan asked smiling.
-
It’s ain’t
skill it’s desire., I admitted.
-
What?, Ryan
asked confused.
-
I want to do
this… I desire to do this… I need to do this., I said looking at him.
-
I got a desire
but it ain’t for my brain., he said after a few minutes silence.
-
Do you now?, I
said smiling before I pulled his face closer to mine.
-
You got it in
one!, Ryan laughed before kissing me.
