Chapter 5
~
Dee ~
-
I NEED A
MAN!, I said to myself as I left Karlie in the kitchen.
-
I’m sure
you do!, Clay laughed as he had a drink from his bottle.
-
Great
you’re here!, I sighed as I sat in the sofa near Clay.
-
I live
here that’s my excuse. What’s yours?, he asked.
-
Got kicked
out of the kitchen. Give me some!, I sighed.
-
Go ahead!,
Clay said as I took a mouth full of his drink.
-
That’s
warm!, I said trying not to cough.
-
Have
another one., Clay laughed giving me the bottle back.
-
What about
you?, I asked as I took another drink.
-
Got
another bottle here., he said waving the bottle around.
-
Good!, I
said taking a large drink from the bottle I had.
-
Goody two
shoes!, he said to me.
-
What?, I
asked.
-
What
happened to the girl who can party?, he asked mimicking what Bek had said.
-
Here! You
just don’t know a definition of a party! Come on let cause some fun., I said
getting up.
-
How?
-
You’ll
see!, I laughed as Clay stumbled to catch up with me.
*
A Couple Of Minutes Later *
-
Not
another one!, Clay asked as I quickly drunk another shot.
-
I can
handle it!, I said slamming the shot glass on the table.
-
Clay dude!
Where’s Natasha?, one of Clay’s friends asked.
-
In the
other room I think., he said laughing.
-
Let’s go
get her!, I said standing up.
-
You
don’t like her do you?, he fumbled.
-
Nope!, I
laughed as we walked into the kitchen.
-
She’s
not here., Clay sighed.
-
Might be
asleep in your room., I wondered.
-
Let’s go
Toto!, Clay said to me.
-
Right away
Dorothy!, I said following him.
*
Once Upstairs *
-
TASH!,
Clay called out as he opened the door.
-
Oh shit!,
Natasha said as she looked up from his bed.
-
Well
that’s not good., I said looking at what was happening before my drunken eyes.
-
Hey
Gordon!, Clay said crossing his arms.
-
Clay I can
explain!, Clay’s friend Gordon said.
-
No need
to! I may be drunk but I’m not blind., he said walking out of his room.
-
I thought
I told you to stay out of our lives!, Natasha shouted at me.
-
What? Get
over yourself! I didn’t think you would be that stupid to cheat on him again.,
I shouted back.
-
You are a
whore!, Natasha said to me.
-
That’s
really interesting coming from someone in a predicament that you’re in!, I
said walking out after Clay.
-
Dee
what’s going on?!, Buffy asked walking up to me.
-
Check that
out!, I said pointing to Clay’s bedroom.
-
What the
hell?!, I heard Buffy, say as she saw what we had.
-
Clay slow
down!, I said trying to catch up to him.
-
Give me a
damn good reason why!, Clay shouted.
-
Shhhh! Not
everyone is awake!
-
Sorry!, he
said sarcastically.
-
I think I
better get that pole out., I said stepping away from him.
-
What?,
Clay asked confused.
-
Ten foot
away remember? Look, I only want to see if you’re okay.
-
Would you
be okay? Well would you?, Clay asked shouting.
-
No! But I
wouldn’t go getting mad at the people helping me! You’re an asshole!, I
shouted back.
-
God grow
up Dee!, Clay shook his head.
-
Me grow
up? Yeah right! You didn’t trust me when I told you the truth months ago about
Natasha! Don’t go blaming me for your problem!, I shot back.
-
You caused
them! If you didn’t tell me, I would never have fought with her and she would
not console herself with another person!
-
Console?
Is that what it is called now?! I might go find me a hot guy to console my
problems with then!, I laughed.
-
You do
that! Lead one guy on then go find another!
-
What?, I
asked.
-
You heard
me! Years ago, when we were best
friends, you found another guy and dumped me!
-
I didn’t
dump you! You walked away! Leaving me! You said that I was a waste of time!, I
said holding in my tears.
*
A Couple Of Years Back *
-
Clay… he’s my boyfriend., I said to him as we sat outside the
school.
-
He’s an
idiot!, he said while looking at me.
-
You say that about all the guys I date., I laughed bitterly.
-
It’s true! I mean you could do better.
-
What? Come on Clay! Please!, I said getting annoyed.
-
You know it!, Clay said crossing his arms.
-
Why don’t you like Brad? Tell me why?
-
He’s not a friend., he answered.
-
And you are? If you were, you would be happy for me. You would stick up
for me.
-
I’m not happy because he’s not right for you!, Clay said before
walking away.
-
Always about you isn’t it! You this! You that! Dee help me with this!
Dee help me do that! Not any more Clay! Until you accept I have a boyfriend!, I
called out behind him.
-
I won’t do that! You’re just a waste of my time Dee!, Clay said
before walking away.
