Ringo on 29 hours of marriage...

'I'LL SAY THIS - I AGREE WITH IT'

By PAUL HUGHES

She was in that "I wanna hold your hand" mood. He was obviously feling fine.

The happy couple, Beatles' drummer Ringo Starr and his 18-year-old bride, Maureen Cox.

Ringo said; "I reckon we've been married about twenty-nine hours..."

The he added: "I can tell you this fellers - I agree with it."

Popped

How does a Beatle propose? Ringo popped the question in a London club one morning at two o'clock - "and I didn't go down on one knee."

Now he and Maureen are honeymooning at the home of their friend, lawyer David Jacobs, in Hove, Sussex.

Any regrets about keeping the wedding a secret?

"No," said Ringo "The wedding day is the bride's day, not a stage show."

And he's not worried about the fans' reaction now he's no longer a bachelor.

"I don't think I disappointed them." Ringo went on. "Ninety percent of them seem to be for it."

Unknown

Then with a "Ta-rah, then," Ringo and the girl who has been his Number One fan since he was an unknown in Liverpool, turned back towards the house.

"Married life, here we come," Ringo added grinning.

Eleven girls went to school at Bad Godesberg, West Germany, in black slacks and sweaters yesterday
"We're in mourning." they told the teacher, "because Ringo's married."
