Ringo Weds

The wedding took place quietly to-day of Mr. Richard Starkey (musician) and Miss Mary Cox (spinster).

The marriage was solemnised in the Registration District of Westminster and the ceremony was conducted by Mr. Barry Digweed.

The witnesses were Henry Groves, J.W. Lennon and G. Harrison.

The duties of best man were admirably carried out by Mr. Brian Epstein.

Others present included Mrs. Cynthia Lennon, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Coc (the bride's parents) and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Starkey (the bridegroom's parents).

It was regretted that Mr. Paul McCartney was unable to attend owing to the fact that he is at present on holiday abroad.

The bride, who is known as Maureen, is 18 years old and the daughter of a ship's steward. She wore an off-white silk suit and carried a bouquet of flowers.

HAPPY COUPLE

Mr. Starkey, who is 24 and popular in the disctrict, has for some time made his living as a drummer.

Later the happy couple left for a honeymoon at a secret destination. It is understood they plan to make their home in London.
