Fall of the Soldier

Ever notice that the best RP moments you have are those which occur in dire situations? Well I am no different, and the following is what I consider to be one of my finest moments, RP wise... though the content is, to put it lightly, a trifle heart wrenching. I am posting this for two reasons,

1. It is important to Tiph's past, and

2. The RP itself is of such a quality that I think I outdid myself.

Ok enough of that... there are three more parts to this little "saga" and I will have them up eventually, so as not to leave you hanging or anything. Enjoy...

Tiph Nightshade: ::she teleported in warily, alien orbs glowing so dimly, you'd swear they would extinguish at any moment, truly, those eyes were the mirror to her spirit, which was also at the brink of being extinguished::

Sephiroth Enigma: ::he turned cold, unfeeling bright Mako green eyes over her, smirking to himself, the fallen soldier, returned to finish what he had left undone so long before, all those years ago, Masamune, THE Masamune, not a fake or a clone, held in an eased calm hand at his side::

Tiph Nightshade: ::she brought her saddened eyes to trapse over the frame of her old partner... feared and loved, a curious relationship they had... memories came rushing back... he came back for me finally, ne?... took him long enough::

Sephiroth Enigma: ::he knew all, saw all, and such a sorry state he found her in; we were disgusted, this was not OUR Tiphareth, we saw nothing left of our soldier, only a spineless sniveling feeling creature, hiding itself in a once proud and respectable ShinRa uniform, that armored suit, we'd had it specially made for her, we had lived and died for her, come back from the dead for her, and how are we repaid?:: You sicken me

Tiph Nightshade: I sicken myself ::her voice was a pained whisper, choked with tears, yes, we were crying, we found ourself doing that a lot lately... and though we could blame a certain vampire for our change in personality, she took full blame onto herself, as she should, for that was where it belonged::

Tiph Nightshade: ::she absently fingered her wedding band, and turned a frightened face to Sephiroth::

Sephiroth Enigma: What ::we snarled:: is that?

Tiph Nightshade: My death ::she whispered::

Sephiroth Enigma: Wrong Tiphareth ::he raised Masamune:: I hold your death in my hand

Tiph Nightshade: ::she knew it all too well... but she was not afraid of death, and here was the only one alive who could give it to her... too weak to do it ourself... she cursed her feebleness, helplessness, complete and dire weakness; we could do nothing right, we had shamed our partner and deserved to die::

Sephiroth Enigma: ::he took determined steps towards her, Masamune gleaming wickedly in his hand, seven full feet of the sweet gift of death, her anguished tear-streaked face reflecting in it's blade. He halted himself in front of her, reached down and took the ring from her finger. He held it up, as if to examine it, then sneered, such an evil gesture... we easily crushed it to bits in our hand, then tossed the pieces to her brother, who had thus far stood back and watched:: Make sure he gets this, won't you?

Sephiroth Enigma: ::he laughed, it was truly an unnerving and odd sound... that disturbing sense of humor always showing itself at the most inopportune, or were they the most opportune moments...::

Tiph Nightshade: ::she winced and lowered her head::

Lu Watchman: ::he gets a look of fear upon his face, being the first time he has ever shown fear in his eyes, never really being afraid until now, his purple eyes begin to flicker with a sadness, knowing what fate is to bring upon his sister. in a low voice he spoke:: I can do this....but why must you kill her?

Sephiroth Enigma: She has failed me miserably, and in the process suffered more than my partner ever should... Were it anyone else's pain, I would not care, but she is all I love, my all... My- ::he cut himself off, as he felt the beginnings of a show of emotion coming on, we would not allow anything of the sort, and hardened our face, turning to him as if he looked upon a simpleton, or a child:: This is the final respect one soldier pays another, once their job has come to it's end

Sephiroth Enigma: And my dear Tiphareth, I assure you, the end has come ::was that pain in our eyes as he spoke those last words...::

Tiph Nightshade: ::she swallowed hard, and turned her eyes to Lu, but could say nothing, she was only able to mouth the words:: I love you bro... ::then looked back to face the prospect of her demise, embodied in the near god of a man poised with his Masamune before her::

Sephiroth Enigma: Not so much unlike Aeris... ::he allowed a sickening grin to pull at his delicately defined cheek muscles:: But you deserve better than death by stabbing in the back... ::his voice softened, ever so slightly, and his eyes locked onto hers:: How would you have me do it, Tiphareth?

Lu Watchman: ::he lowered his head, never in his life being this sad, he felt depression fall upon him as if it was rain from a storm during the season of the monsoon, a single tear runs down his pale cheek, he looks up one last time to his sister, knowing that her end is surprisingly close:: I love you Tiphy...remember that.... keep it with you always...

Tiph Nightshade: I know it Lu... and I will..::she forced a stoic expression onto her features, looked back at Sephiroth, and pointed to her heart, the source of all our strife, the root of the problem, ironic yet fitting that we wanted to be killed this way... Darrian had awakened it, teased it, used it, crushed it, and now it must die::

Sephiroth Enigma: ::he nodded grimly, a witty one she had always been, her own sick sense of humor picking it's moments to show itself as well, or so it seemed:: Smartass to the end, my dearest.... ::he chuckled, and raised Masamune to an outstretched position, extended to his side, muscles quivering, mind and body in turmoil over what he knew he must do, but could scarcely find the proper strength to...::

Tiph Nightshade: ::she raised her eyes to him, the glow having returned in a very scant trace of an amount; we would be redeemed by the cleansing Masamune was soon to deliver, our honor would be regained, even if it was by the most extreme measures that we earned it back::

Tiph Nightshade: Lu I want you to have my masamunes... ::our final act as a soldier, we wiped the shining blue tears from our face, hardened our expression, and looked into the face of our partner, the very specter of death, and welcomed what was very soon to come and relieve all our suffering. She knelt, and threw her masamunes to the side, for her brother to claim as soon as her blood was completely spilt, and, holding her arms out to either side and her head high, waited for the sweet kiss of death::

Sephiroth Enigma: ::Masamune was thrust into her prostrate chest, it's blade easily piercing the armor of the suit, for they were of the same make; he drove it into her with incredible force, hoping to make her suffer as little as possible, and as her blood spilled out to tarnish the gleaming metal, he pressed down a lump that rose in his throat::

Tiph Nightshade: ::she gasped slightly, but did not cry out... the horrific pain had stolen her voice away, Masamune seered through her more easily than a hot knife through melted butter; he was strong... too strong... as were we... she took the opportunity to fight the madness that overtakes one's mind as you are pulled into the clutches of death, to curse her existence, Jenova, ShinRa, all of that one last time... angry thoughts took a firm grasp of her screaming mind::

Lu Watchman: ::he lifted his head at the sound of his sister's melancholy voice, he sees the twin masamunes drop to the side of Tiph, he walks over to her side trying not to cry as he fulfills her last request, knowing that the evil being that stood before her was capable of wiping him out as well, he steps quietly to ensure he doesn't anger the wicked man. he leans over and takes them both in his hands::

Sephiroth Enigma: ::he turned his head away, unable to look at her any longer, unable to look at what he had done...::

Lu Watchman: ::lifting them up he begins to cry, feeling that he has lost something so dear to him, he looks over to Tiph, trying his best to fight off the anger inside, trying to kill the thought that he wants to attack Sephiroth::

Tiph Nightshade: ::she bled profusely, and the blue (yes blue, her blood is blue) substance was sputtered from her mouth as she fell onto her face, Masamune still stuck clean through her heart, clean through Tiphareth, for three feet of it were protruding from her back... her head landed on it's side, and a thin trickle of azure vitae slid down the side of her mouth, opened in an expression of agony::

Lu Watchman: ::he decides against attacking the god-like figure, knowing that it would be his end, and he would fail his mission to take the ring to Darrian, he lowers one of the blades to rest the tip on the ground, he slides the ring into his pocket, then takes the masamune into his hand again, he looks to Tiph's body, wishing there was something he could do, but he cannot, so he turns his head::

Tiph Nightshade: ::she summoned her last ounce of dying strength to whisper:: Darrian... ::and died, looking every bit as anguished in her final moments as her final day had been::

Sephiroth Enigma: ::he withdrew Masamune and, pausing to run a tender finger down her cheek, forced the choke down again, and rose to his feet once more, the tired yet ever strong soldier walked slowly off of the premesis::
