The Universal Deity Challenge, 2001

Once again, it appears to be time for the deity challenge. Anyone of any faith may enter, but all must abide by the rules.

  1. Each entrant will be provided with a stainless steel bowl. Prayers/meditations and rites may be performed upon the bowl for the period of one month.
  2. Upon its return, the bowl will be taken to a secret desert site, and placed (with all other entrants' bowls) in a place without rainfall.
  3. Each entrant should ask their deity (or deities) to fill the bowl with water. The first bowl filled will indicate the victorious deity or pantheon and the entire world will have to worship that deity for one year, after which point any other deity may challenge the status quo in this same fashion.

If you are unwilling to participate, it only proves a lack of faith on your part. If another god wins, and you refuse to worship it, then consider why in the world you expect others to worship YOUR god when it can't even fill up a bowl with water.

Penalties No faith that does not participate will be allowed to seek converts in any public space (incl. cyberspace). If a faith participated and did not fill a bowl, they are also disallowed for the following year from seeking converts in public places. Only faiths that have proven their effectiveness could seek converts.

(This is, in fact, the reason for the Deity Challenge; to remove those who preach on street corners, who post billboards "from God", and who want to teach their faith in the schools. I say that if your god fills a bowl, they get air time in schools, on the street corner, and on billboard, but all other faiths should be prohibited from trying to seek converts in public.)
