I N T R O D U C T I O N

     Dogs; Canis Familiaris , are the first animals to be domesticated by humans about 10,000-12,000 years ago . There is an estimated 500,000,000 domesticated dogs in the world and about 60%  live in their master's homes as Companion (pet) Dogs .

Many sleep in their master's beds and some eat from the master's dishes .
Many people allow , and even encourage , dogs to lick their mouth and eat from their dishes and it is a documented fact that if a human has an open wound and a dog licks it , the wound will heal  better , if the licking does not cause irritation .
In Canada , diseases that may be contracted from Companion Dogs is of no great concern because of the good health care of people and dogs and the good sanitary conditions of our society .

     No other animal has so loyally accompanied and worked for the human race as willingly as the dog .
In exchange , we love and value our dogs .
They make us feel good and they accept us unconditionally .
They don't care how young or old we are , or how much money we make .
They always greet ushappily .
And so it is our responsibility to treat our dogs well and to advocate kindness toward these wonderfully loyal creatures .
For when we love a dog we add its presence to our life .
But when a dog accepts our love -- it gives its life to us .

     Dogs have been associated with man for about 40,000 years and have been man's close Companion and lived in their homes for some 10,000 years .
It is said that dogs are "Man's best friend ." Well, they are that --- and more .
Down through the centuries man has used dogs in many different capacities .
They will go places and do things for man that is against their basic instincts .
They have been Worshiped , Loved , Feared , and Hated .
Like the Wolves , and other animals , dogs have been subjected to many superstitious beliefs that have been very detrimental to the species .

     Mainly dogs have been regarded as Chattel and their REAL value has been
overlooked .
A dog is a perfect example of Altruism , he is the only creature on this earth that loves YOU more than he loves himself .
Except for man-himself , dogs are the only one of God's creatures who will deliberately sacrifice their own lives for a member of another species .

     Just why would dogs expend so much energy day after day trying to locate things like bombs , narcotics , or truffles (an underground fungus esteemed as a , human , food delicacy .) in which they have no earthly interest ?
The answer is primarily for the approval and praise received for a job well done .
An occasional treat might be welcome but , by and large , dogs perform fust to please us --- No Pension , No Union , No Salery .
Where else can you find that kind of worker ?

     Dog is the only one of God's creatures that is capable of ABSOLUTE Love .
So , where is it written that another being must be of our genes , or for that matter of the same species , to be worthy of OUR Love and Caring .

     A very large majority of the population of the world believe in God and that everything originated from God .
This being the case then, there was nothing in existance before God started , except God . Therefore , God is the material from which EVERYTHING was created ; Everything is God incarnate, including dogs .
Which makes dogs , along with everything else , God's Children .
There are many people who treat Children like "Dogs" --- S0 , why should it be considered morally wrong for people to treat dogs like children ?
All anyone has to do is follow the media for a month to see which species is the most
violent , distructive and disease ridden .
Anything that has touched God's creation and left a mark , whether anyone remembers or not , has immortality , because it has made a positive or negative influence on the
course of history forever .
The quality and quantity of the influence will determine to what extent the change will be .  If you compare dog and man over the past four million years , it will be very clear which species has made the positive or negative effect on this planet and the species itself , and to what degree .
Many dogs have made a great positive mark by enriching the life of one person or performing one great heroic feat , while others have touched the hearts of many over a long period of time .

     The love a human being feels for a creature of another species is equally as real , deep , and meaningful as the love one feels for another human .
We are not referring to a Sensual love, but rather , to a Platonic ; Spiritual Love .
Anyone , who is lucky enough to be able to live a portion of their life with a Companion Dog and share such mutual feelings , can consider themselves truly Blessed .
The Only One of God's Children that this is possible with is --- the Dog .
Where is it written that another being must be of our
genes ?
or for that matter , even of the same species , in order to be worthy of our Love .
Like everything else in the universe , this love Is Not FREE .

Zoolatry (zo-ol' a-tre) , the worship of animals , is a prehistoric custom that is still practiced today , on some animals , usually for bibiliographical and trivial reasons .
While at the same time prejudice and discrimination is also practiced toward other animals , for equally "Illogical and Trivial" reasons .
But Dogs , should be "Worshiped" for the Positive ,
Factual ; psychological as well as Physical , contributions they have made toward the species Homo Sapien for the past 10,000 years .
