Personality Summary: Makoto is a fun-loving, boy-crazy girl whose height and tomboy-like features are her constant burden. Before she met Usagi, she had been kicked out of several schools for fighting. She's tough, doesn't take any crap from anyone and protects her friends at all costs. Her main personality trait (if you can call it that) is her passion for cooking. She's a five-star chef in the body of a slim, 100 lb warrior. Usagi befriended her because of her cooking skills and the fabulous lunches that she would bring to school with her (Makoto always made more than one serving so that she could feed the starving Usagi who was constantly forgetting her lunch - or wanting to eat Makoto's fine dining instead).
Love Life: The huge on-going joke in the series is that Makoto compares every man she meets to her old boyfriend. There is an episode very early on in the series (Dub: Rainy Day Man) that actually talks about this old boyfriend whom Makoto was desperately in love with. He dumped her and she's never gotten over it. Throughout the seasons, she is just as boy crazy as the other girls, rivaling Minako as the most extreme. Any man that she sees, she crushes over. In the beginning, she's head-over-heels for Motoki (as are all the girls for that matter) and is crushed when she finds out that he has a girlfriend, Rita. She also has a strong crush on Haruka and is again heartbroken when she finds out later that Haruka is a girl. (The following only occurs in the manga) In the past, during the Silver Millenium, Makoto fell in love with General Nephrite - fourth in command to Prince Endymion. Their soulmate-level love is shattered when Nephrite is brainwashed by Beryl and sent to kill Sailor Jupiter. He is reborn in the present like the rest of the Silver Millenium, but before he can search for his prince, he and his fellow generals fall to darkness and Beryl's power again.
