Chapter 11

The crew at the center of the kill box stopped their systematic destruction
and turned to the Sailor Senshi. The five Senshi stood silently and stared
across at the four young men who were destroying their surroundings.
"All right, I have know idea what you plan to accomplish here but I'm here
to say that enough is enough! I'm Sailor Moon and it's my duty to bust bad
guys like you. So in the name of the moon I will punish you!" Said Usagi
sternly. The young men looked around at each other with confused looks on
their faces. They weren't expecting this.
"What do we do?" Whispered one of the men.
"I don't know, are they who killed Locilus and Lucian?" Asked another.
"I don't think it matters, Bukichi said to keep them busy until the other
men arrived." Said the tallest.
"Why wait, I think we can handle five pretty young girls don't you?"
Smirked one of the men.
"I think you're right buddy," said the tallest man, "lets go get 'em."
"Hold up, should we use the rifles?" Asked one of the men.
"Nah, I think we can handle it." Said the tallest as he approached Sailor
Moon. As he walked he cracked his knuckles and a malicious smirk crawled
across his face. "Well, well, what pretty outfits you girlies are wearing."
"Bag it creep, you don't know who you're messing with." Snarled Makoto.
She was eager to show off all she had learned from Piccolo during the
training. The man sneered and walked over to the tall brunette.
"My, my, a tough chick. I like tough chicks." He leaned in close to
Makoto. "They always make the most interesting playmates." He sneered at
her and his eyes wandered over her body. That was the final straw in
Makoto's mind. In a flash of movement she brought her knee sharply into his
abdomen, doubling the tall man over. Before he could recover she grabbed
the hair on the back of his head and yanked him back up so she could look in
his eyes. He reached up and tried to get her to let go of his hair but
before he could Makoto slammed the heel of her hand into his jaw sending him
flying across the street and collapsing in a pile of groans and broken
teeth.
"Geez Jupiter," said Usagi, "did you have to mess him up so bad?"
"He was asking for it." Replied Makoto. The three other young men stared
at their collapsed ally then looked back to the Senshi.
"So, do you guys give up?" Called Usagi across the street to the young men.
The men jumped slightly and looked around at each other.
"Get the rifles, fast." Whispered one of the men. With a nod one of them
broke away from the group and ran into a nearby alley. He came back with a
large black duffel bag.
"Watch it girls, something's up." Said Usagi as the men dove into the bag.
The Senshi readied themselves for the attack the felt was sure to come.
When the men stood up again each was holding a gleaming piece of black
metal. And if anything looked like a gun, it was what they were holding.
The three men didn't give the Senshi time to dash for cover before firing
their weapons. Three blue-white energy pulses flew through the air. Two
missed their mark and crashed harmlessly into nearby buildings. The third
however was a revenge shot, and as such it was fired with much more
accuracy. The blast struck Makoto in the upper chest and knocked her
through the storefront window behind her. She crashed over a perfume
counter and fell to the ground unconscious.
"Jupiter!" Screamed the girls in unison. Just as they moved to help their
fallen comrade they paused. There was an odd sound approaching. It was the
sound of shuffling feet, and there were far too many of them. The Senshi
looked around nervously and saw the men approaching them from all sides.
"It was a trap!" Hissed Rei.
"What should we do?" Asked Usagi.
"I'll buy us some time." Volunteered Ami. "Shabon Spray!" She screamed as
the Senshi were hidden in the dense fog. Bukichi's men squinted and tried
to make out shapes in the fog.
"We may be able to escape if we hurry." Suggests Minako.
"But what about Jupiter?" Asked Rei.
"I have an idea, but I need some cover." Said Ami.
"What's your plan Mercury?" Asked Usagi.
"The three of you fire your attacks in three different directions and while
there distracted I'll go help Jupiter." Explained Ami.
"Sounds good, lets get ready." Said Usagi.

"Are the bio-scans done Jhessail?" Asked Bukichi as he stared into the
mist that was now covering the street.
"Yes sir, there are six unidentified entities. Five are human females and
the sixth is unknown." Said Jhessail as she read information from the
scanner.
        "Unknown? Where?" Asked Bukichi.
"It's at the center of the box, but is about three hundred feet in the
air." Said Jhessail. Bukichi's eyebrows scrunched together in frustration.
He pulled a large pair of binoculars from the bag at his feet and searched
the sky for the unknown. After a few minutes of searching Piccolo came into
view. He was floating above the battlefield in the lotus position with his
eyes closed.
"Jhessail take a look at this." Said Bukichi as he handed her the
binoculars. Jhessail took them and quickly saw where Piccolo was floating.
"Do you know what that is?" He asked.
"No idea, it may be a being from a different planet in this dimension."
She offered as explanation. The word 'dimension' triggered Bukichi's
memory.
"That must have been what left that portal burn on the street!" He
announced triumphantly. "This creature is from a different dimension and
I'll bet ten to one that it was the one who killed Lucian and Locilus."
"Well if that's true," said Jhessail, "then who are they?" She pointed
toward the battle below. Bukichi's smile vanished and was replaced with
concern. He snatched the communicator from his pocket and opened the
channel so he could speak with his men.
"Attention everyone. There's has been a change in plan. Roughly 300 feet
above you is a being from a different dimension. Our objectives have
changed. I want three men to move away from the battlefield and bring him
down with full-strength blasts from the VICR's. The rest of you continue
with the mission as planned."

********

Three men left the ring of soldiers that stood around the patch of mist.
Each had their VICR at the ready and was waiting patiently for any kind of
activity. Inside the mist Ami gave final instructions to her teammates.
They were ready. In the silence of the night rose three voices. And
following the cries from the mist the situation turned to chaos. Three
attacks blasted out from the mist. One was a flaming orb, another was a
beam of brilliant yellow light, and the third was a small ball of energy
that streaked through the night sky. The ensuing explosions threw most of
them men to the ground, either by the force of the blasts or as a reaction
to being under fire. In those few moments Ami had darted out of the mist to
where Makoto lay unconscious. She managed to get the awkward bundle over
her shoulder and stumbled back into the mist.
"She's a lot heavier than I thought." Panted Ami as she lay Makoto on the
ground.
        "Is she okay?" Asked Minako.
"She's alive if that's what you mean." Said Ami.
"We need to get out of here in a hurry." Said Usagi.
"Let's get Piccolo's attention, he'll take us to safety." Said Minako,
hoping she was right. The Senshi stood around their fallen comrade trying
to think of a way to get Piccolo's attention. As they thought, the mist
around them slowly began to dissipate.
"If we're going to get out of here we need to do it fast." Said Ami as
more and more of their surroundings came into view. As the mist cleared
fallen soldiers groggily pulled themselves and their comrades to their feet.
Fully a third of them were unconscious, and were hauled away by another
third. This left only, you guessed it, one third of the original force.
One third minus three that is.

********

Piccolo had noticed the three soldiers leave the battlefield. He'd watched
them move to a nearby alley. Several times they had gestured towards him
and they appeared to be adjusting the rifles they held in their hands.
Piccolo watched them raise the rifles and aim them toward him. The report
of the rifles firing was clearly heard and the blasts that screamed directly
toward him generated a surprising amount of energy. Even with the amount of
energy they created he wasn't worried. Just as the blasts were about to
reach him he vanished in a blur. The soldiers who had fired the blasts
cursed and began recharging their rifles for another try. None of them
noticed when Piccolo appeared in front of them.
"That wasn't very nice." He growled. The soldiers looked up and terror
washed over them. They raised their rifles to fire, but it was too soon for
the rifles to be used again. Piccolo snatched the rifles away and crushed
them one by one in his hands. Piccolo narrowed his eyes and took a step
towards his attackers.

"Crap!" Muttered Bukichi under his breath. Bukichi had seen Piccolo
vanished and knew exactly where he was going. He stood and began running
across the roof toward where Piccolo was engaging his men.
"Where are you going?" Asked Jhessail, not wanting to be left alone on the
roof.
"I'm going to help my men." He said as he neared the edge. He paused
suddenly and looked at Jhessail. "Turn of my cloaker." Jhessail just
nodded and did as he commanded. Bukichi running again and leapt across an
alley to the next roof. As he ran his human appearance melted away and his
natural body was visible. He jumped onto the ledge overlooking where
Piccolo and his men were. He looked down at the big Namek. One of his men
was slumped against the side of the building unconscious, another was lying
next to a dumpster. Piccolo had grabbed the third by the front of his shirt
and was holding him about a foot and a half above ground. Seeing this,
Bukichi leaped off the roof.

********

Piccolo was just about to interrogate the squirming man he held in his hand
when he felt the force of Bukichi's boot crash into the side of his head.
The blow caused Piccolo to drop the soldier and threw him hard against the
alley wall. Bukichi landed and went to the only conscious soldier.
        "Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yes sir, thank you sir." Said the still fear-stricken soldier.
"Good, get those two back to base." Said Bukichi as he turned to Piccolo.
The soldier nodded and carried the two unconscious soldiers back to their
base. Piccolo growled and walked toward Bukichi. Bukichi narrowed his eyes
towards the tall Namek. "Who are you?" He asked.
"Piccolo." Was all the Namek said before attacking. Piccolo flew at
Bukichi with his fist cocked and ready to strike. Bukichi dodged the strike
and countered with a sharp kick to Piccolo's side as he passed. Piccolo
grunted and turned to face Bukichi again. "You're turn." Piccolo said as
he prepared to receive an attack.
Bukichi crouched and sprang toward Piccolo. As he neared Piccolo he
readied his hand for a punch. Piccolo leaned his head to the side and the
blow passed by harmlessly. Bukichi's momentum carried him to within a foot
of Piccolo before Piccolo struck. Piccolo kneed Bukichi hard in the gut and
grabbed Bukichi by the face as Bukichi doubled over in pain. Piccolo roared
as he slammed Bukichi into the alley wall by his face. Piccolo held him
there, grinding his head into the brick and didn't notice the red arc of
energy that formed in Bukichi's hand. The red energy soon lost its color
and turned to a shiny silver. The energy condensed and formed a long curved
blade. Bukichi slashed at Piccolo's face with his new weapon. Piccolo
dropped Bukichi and put a hand to the long gash on his face. Green blood
dribbled from the wound and Piccolo's lips turned up in a fearsome snarl.
Bukichi let the blade in his hand drop to the ground and soon the energy
that had created it ran out and it vanished.
"Cute trick." Piccolo spat before he jumped back from Bukichi. Bukichi
dislodged himself from the building he'd been embedded in and walked to the
middle of the alley. Piccolo was ready for another exchange but Bukichi
chose to end the fight. He reached into his pocket and retrieved his
communicator.
"Attention, this mission is finished. Return to base immediately. Two men
go and help Jhessail get back to base." Said Bukichi. Piccolo straightened
up upon hearing Bukichi's words. "We will continue this another time
Piccolo." Said Bukichi as he turned and walked away. Piccolo narrowed his
eyes.
        "Yes we will."

********

The mist had cleared and the Senshi were confused. They were expecting to
be attacked, but as they looked around the streets were empty.
        "What happened?" Asked Usagi.
"I don't know, they just left." Said Minako.
"Why didn't they attack us?" Asked Ami.
"They were ordered to leave." Said Piccolo as he landed by their sides.
The girls collectively 'eeked' and jumped in fright.
"Don't do that Piccolo!" Shouted Rei as she tried to catch her breath.
Piccolo looked down at Makoto knelt down beside her.
"She's going to need some bandaging." He said as he looked at the cuts
Makoto had received from crashing through the window.
"I can take care of that." Said Ami. Piccolo put the Senshi harness
around his waist again before scooping Makoto up in his arms.
"What happened to your face?" Asked Minako as she noticed the slash across
his cheek.
"Never mind, let's go back to the camp." He growled. Minako got a fearful
look in her eyes and quickly situated herself in the harness. The battle
over with, the six warriors ascended into the night sky and flew back to
their camp.
