Notes on Insomnia

Greetings from the House of Al-Quadim!

Sadly, I do not know much. And much of what I do know may be mistaken or misconstrued. But I shall attempt to summarize what I do know for yourself and others who care to listen to my inadequate tongue.

What little I do know is from my direct interaction with Insomnia. I am certain others have more to offer in his History.

Insomnia is a powerful Elemental. I believe of Death. He was released from the control of one I believed named Midian by some unknown entity. Since his release, he has sporadically gone on rampages of death and destruction. He is haughty- but has always treated myself with honor and dignity. He is given to eloquent rants, broken by seemingly random killing sprees. He is able to Rift through Wards and Circles of Power, though the presence of a Harmonic Rest seems to keep him at bay- though this may change. His blows are mighty and bring Death if they breach your armour and Protectives. He is also able to Magically Sleep those who draw his wrath. I have seen him walk about and not harm anyone unless provoked. He has also allowed me to retrieve those who have fallen under his wrath and to bring them to safety to be healed. Whenever we came to blows, I struck him for Magical damage. I am unaware if any other form of damage affects his form. Oh yes, he is very skilled in wielding a two-handed sword.

Insomnia is a worthy opponent. Intelligent, honorable and skilled. Personally, I recommend avoiding direct contact with Insomnia. If however, you are graced by his immediate presence, I recommend being respectful and not provoking or demeaning in your interactions. I also recommend keeping a spare set of clothing available at the Healer's Guild in case things go badly for you.

I recommend seeking out myself and others who may know more of his history. I shall make all attempts to learn more of this information and to be available at the next Gathering.

Thank you for your time.

Al-Hasan,

Squire Amra Asland al-Quadim of the House of Al-Quadim.
Squire to Sir Alan Moonwind, Baron of Cumberland.
Merchant and Minister of Ambiance to the Court of Cumberland.
Guardian of the Ravenholt Healers Guild.
