I do not know all of the small things that were done, there were no doubt many things that occured I am not aware of. It is invariably so.
Friday night the fifth truth was revealed by the Herald. This truth was that there is a group of five evil beings that were endeavoring to break the 'last link' and free their 'master'. These beings were, in no particular order:
Ex-Ambassador Raiden who seems to be Varyk's puppet master
King-Rat a powerful noncorporeal undead rat
The Thing Under The Bed, who has an actual name someone told me , but I forgot.
Pale
A/The/One Dread One
This was a rather lengthy encounter of which much can be said, but I will save that for another time/place.
Friday night we were attacked by large bouts of living sludge, rats, and some other things. People were selling an alchemical substance called 'V' that increased strength. Many locals as well as numerous adventurers consumed significant quantities of this.
Saturday during the day, the 'V' supply ran out, and 'V Junkies' came pouring into town attacking people for their 'V' and money. The 'V' had further altered them so that they had a varied and suprising number of monsterous abilities, as well as pustules and pocks all over their faces.
Arrolyn, Muriel with the help of others (I appologize if I don't know who) concoted an antidote to the 'V' addiction. This was widely distributed.
Saturday Night brought us assault from a half hearted summoning by the Dread Ones, a lethal assault by the Rat King and his minions. At Midnight Neridia's gate held its breath to see what would come.
A while after that a being appeared on the field, amid the continued invasion of the Rat King, that calls itself Finamarth. He was shrouded in black, talked in the deep voice of one trying to be spooky, and could cause your death mearly by saying your name.
Finamarth was not effected by any force of arms or magic that could be called up, so I got bored and went to bed.
Sunday...more rats...shocking no? Then Covan's Tor was being taken by Transformed Varykites, including Ex-Ambassador Raiden and the big undead 'Dead Lord'. Once more Raiden found himself lying on the ground with a big bump on his noggin, and last I knew was in custody of the Neridian's. The Dead Lord took 10 minutes or so of being beaten severely before he finally collapsed.
Also spotted amongst the rumble, large creatures that resemble corrupted Mystic Wood Elves, they can swing great blows that will go through weapons and shields. They can return mighty blows and assassinating blows into memory and they take very minimal damage from most weapon blows, however a single well placed Dragon's Beath seems to destroy them.
Varykites with Leather masks bolted to their face. This seems to be some sort of Varykite Transform, it gave them greater fortitude and the ability to cast a death spell through their weapon, and if I recall some minor resistance to magic.
The Extraplanar Horrors, they delivered a lot of death and necromantic effects through their weapon. I think they were healed by curses. They returned a lot of imprisons, but seemed to take all 'I Call Forth'.
For more details, please keep your eyes opened for the next issue of 'The Gate.'
