A Message From the Editor:

Hello.

It was great to see a good turnout for Free States Cambridge on the 23rd and 30th of April. 8 of us turned up to play for the signed Swiftness of the Stag print by Ron Spencer. The event was fun, even though everyone decided to jump on me in the final. The print was won by Brian White with his Ventrue/Gangrel deck 3am Eternal. It is listed below.

Also, on Mayday Bank Holiday we held a tourney at MSO Cambridge 2002. We again had a good turnout, 8 Methuselahs, with Martin, Adam and Barny coming from outside of the area.

There probably won't be a sanctioned tourney this month, as we need a bit of a break in order to arrange prizes and stuff. However, I want to run an Antediluvian Tournament. These are using oversized cards which give certain clans advantages, you advantages and some disadvantages. More in the next issue.

I think we are doing well in Cambridge now, with a healthy number of regular and casual Methuselahs. I hope that we can just go from strength to strength, and that the new expansion will aid that.

May the night be yours!

Andy

A Timetable of Planned Temple Meetings:

Regular meetings are held on Tuesdays, 7.30pm at The Graduate Pub, Mitchum's Corner.

Next meeting: Tuesday 14th May 2002. From 7.30pm.

Upcoming events:
Antediluvian Tourney.
A chance to play as an Antediluvian rather than just a Methuselah. Bid pool to play a certain Antediluvian for the tourney. You will lose that much pool in each round. There will be a small entry fee, and FN boosters for everyone.

UK EC Qualifier.
On the last Sunday in June, Dave Hammond and Mike Nudd are co-hosting the EC qualifier for the UK. This event is likely to be the largest turnout this year aside from the National Cup in August. If you finish in the top half of the tourney, you will qualify to play in the EC in December in Austria.
The event is being held in Watford at The Flag, 12pm on Last Sunday in June.

Jyhad Set Tourney.
Possibly being held in July, this set will be run in Watford by me, and will have a complete set of Jyhad as the Grand Prize. More details when I can sort out my Diary.

New Set Details

In August, the much anticipate Camarilla Base Set is released. This is scheduled to be over 400 cards, with over 100 new vampires. It will feature some reprints, and will have 6 pre-constructed starters, one for each of the clans in the Camarilla.

"Hold on," I hear you cry, "what do you mean 6 clans?"

It turns out that in clanbook Gangrel, the Inner Circle member removed the entire clan from the Camarilla, so they are now all independent.
I don't know what this means for all the existing ones but a further expansion for next year (The Anarchs) will feature them.

Conversing on the Princes mailing group, It should be possible to have more than one pre-release in the country, so all being well, I should be able to hold a pre-release event for this one. More when I find out.

A Decklist:

3am Eternal.
This was Brian's winning deck for Free States Cambridge. He called it 3am eternal, as the guy doesn't sleep and he built it at about 3am in the morning before the tourney. Basically, an agropoke deck, with fortitude for defense, Political to ensure he is No1 and Dominate for Deflections.
It swept the first table, I ousted it on the second and then he got 3 points in the final to win. Well done Brian, here is your deck in all it's glory.

Final Word:

A lot has happened since the last issue, and still more will continue to develop for the game. It's an exciting time to be involved in what is now becoming much more widely played game. I hope that you all continue to be involved in the game in some way, and that you all keep me informed of what you want to do for the game. Let me know anything, and I'l try to sort it out.

Keep up the corrupting!
