A Message From the Editor:

Hello.

It's been a while since the last newsletter, but it's good to have seen many of you at the local club night, and some of you trying new deck ideas (remember, you can send me them and I'll put them on the newsletter).

It is now about the time that we can start wondering what exciting new stuff will come out in the new Camarilla Set. Any of you who have read the 13 clan Novels will know that the Gangrel Clan as a whole left the Camarilla, and as such they won't feature in the set, although as yet, that won't change the existing Gangrel Vamps.

There will be a starter deck for each of the 6 clans that are left, and there are going to be 100 new vampires. Also, if you look at the Ken Meyer Jr. webpage (http://www.kenmeyerjr.com) he is featuring some of the artwork from vampires that he has painted for the set, including some new versions of old favourites.

Speaking of which, the artwork arrived for the prize for the Antediluvian Tournament which Gavin won playing as Augustus with his Gazzavanni deck (see below). He chose Adelaide (clan unkown as yet). Thanks for everyone playing and making this a good tourney, I think the best yet. I'll do another fun/story type tourney in the autumn.

Best sign off now, and let you read the rest of the letter.

May the night be yours!

Andy

A Timetable of Planned Temple Meetings:

Regular meetings are held on Tuesdays, 7.30pm at The Graduate Pub, Mitchum's Corner.

Next meeting: Tuesday 2nd June 2002. From 7.30pm.

Upcoming events:
UK EC Qualifier.
On Sat 29th June, Dave Hammond and Mike Nudd are co-hosting the EC qualifier for the UK. This event is likely to be the largest turnout this year aside from the National Cup in August. If you finish in the top half of the tourney, you will qualify to play in the EC in December in Austria.
The event is being held in Watford at The Flag, 11am.

Heart of Darkness: Cambridge
This is the next tourney being held in Cambridge in August. It will be a standard sanctioned constructed tourney (no camarilla set if it is released, existing cards less restictions only). It will be on the 20th and 27th August. Most of you should have received details by now. If you haven't, let me know, but I'll mail again soon. Main Prize 8x10 photoprint of Alejandro from the new set by Ken Meyer Jr. Entry £3.

I am also planning a sealed deck using the new Camarilla set in September, where the prize will be an official VTES edge counter. Cost and date tbc.

I may not be able to run a pre-release as I will be off work recovering from an operation for the first two weeks of August. So if you want to go to one, I will be letting people know as soon as I do when Dave will hold one.

Final Word:

It is necessary for us to keep playing and trying new stuff. Since restarting playing this game recently, I have made new friends, learnt more about the game and developed new deck ideas. (you can stop being a pure stealth bleed player if you try!)
I have also taken on the mantle of VEKN Prince of Cambridge so that we have an official point of contact (and we can also get prize support).
However, I would like to "ab"use this position of power somewhat, in order to hopefully benefit you all. I'm going to go back to being a teacher and set you all homework.
Most of you tend towards using the same deck most times we play, so up until the next tournament, you must all try at least 3 different deck designs (I don't expect you to all go out and start buying new cards).
And by the way James Adkins, you are reduced to 2 new deck designs as some good news is happening in the Adkins household. James and his fiancee are getting married soon (August was it?) so I would like to speak on behalf of all the players and wish you congratulations.

Keep up the corrupting!
