A Message From the Editor:

Hi all!

Well, it's finally arrived. Bloodlines is out, and it looks set to add to the game as it was. 12 new clans have been added to the mix, along with a bucketload of new cards, including the all important split and dual discipline cards. At the time of writing this, I haven't seen a large amount of the cards, but those I have, have wetted my appetite. Hopefully for the first newsletter of next year I will be able to provide a little more of a review (contributions from you lot always welcome) of the set.

With Christmas just around the corner, this will be the last Corrupter of 2001, so I shall attempt to give you all the necessary info in order for a safe journey along the path to Set's awakening and the downfall of all the other clans.

Merry Christmas

Andy

A Timetable of Planned Temple Meetings:

Regular meetings are held on Tuesdays, 7.30pm at the Cornerhouse Pub, Newmarket Road.

Next meeting: Tuesday 11th December 2001

Last meeting of this year: Tuesday 18th December 2001

First meeting of 2002: Tuesday 8th January 2001

I think it would be nice to start the new year on a high note, so we'll have a little mini-tourney (unsanctioned). This will consist of 1 round and a final. The first round will be random seating order, choice in final based on points scored in first round. There will be a 1 1/2 hr time limit on the first round, so we need to start promptly.

The next major tournament will be 23rd December in Watford. Please contact Dave Hammond (davecrazy@hotmail.com) to find out more. I won't be able to get to this one. He is doing extra prizes, including one for the most Christmassy deck (but he has threatened to shoot anyone who does Christmas Presence!).

I am trying to organise a full tourney for about the 23rd February. More news on that in the next newsletter.

Important News Related to the Planned Awakening of Set:

I am still awaiting a promotional pack from White-Wolf to run some demo evenings/events. There appears to be a small delay in the preparation of these at the moment, so more info as soon as I get it.

A Small Section of Prose:

Tasha had been embraced for some time now. She was getting on well in the world of unlife. It hadn't taken her long to realise that movies and books had been wrong about many things, but she was rather surprised about her aversion to light. The first thing she had done once embraced and allowed back to her own flat was to smash all the lights in. 100W bulbs were just too much. In a clear night, she even had trouble looking at a full moon.

That didn't matter much to her anymore. She was happier in clubs anyway. This new life had taught her many things, including how to hide in plain site, and make people do as she wished. However, tonight was going to be different. Her master, the head of her clan in the city, had summoned her to Temple. She knew the reason, tonight she had been a vampire 5 years. Tonight she was to be rewarded with a special task.

As she made her way to the temple, she practised all that she had been taught. She found a young girl of a similar age to herself out walking the wintery path through the common. She hid herself and appeared in front of the girl.

Shocked, the girl attempted to scream, but suddenly found herself attracted to Tasha. Tasha put her arms around the girl and started to kiss her neck. As she did so, her fangs grew and punctured the girls neck. This was the bit she enjoyed about being a vampire the most. The blood flowed into her mouth and she savoured the taste. Warm. Thick. This was what it meant to be a vampire. The beast inside her took control for a few seconds and savoured the moment.

Then she stopped. She withdrew her fangs and licked the wound. It magically healed and was clean skin to all who looked. Tasha then disappeared to the girl as quickly as she had appeared, and continued on her way to Temple. Her master had told her to feed before she arrived, and Tasha never disobeyed an order from him.

Tasha arrived at the Temple. It was quiet, it often was. She entered and saw other Followers there. They were younger than she was, in vampiric age. She herself had introduced many of them to her master, and he had embraced some. Tonight she was to take some on a mission. Tonight she would blood bond some of them to her, and lead this small band to do a rather important thing. Take control of the city from the Camarilla.

Featured Site:

Colin sent me an email suggesting to tell you all about a VTES club site RustWurks. I have looked around this site and it is a rather useful site to look at. Run by a club in America, they regularly write features ranging from Soapbox to strategies, and how to get the most from cards. Recently one article was published about how to use the ten cards most generally thought of as wallpaper, and they regularly hold online polls about game aspects.

You can find the site at http://www.rustwurks.net

Check it out, and let me know about any others you find. Also write a small bit about it, and I'll put the whole article here.

A useful tool when designing decks is David Anderson-Davilla's Elder Library Deck Builder. Normally I would suggest you go and download it immediately, however, he has just finished writing a new version (v3) which should be ready in the new year. This will be fully upto date with all the latest official texts of cards, lots of funky new features. I will mention more next issue.
